Directly sell them still feels unlikely to me, but that's not the only way to profit off of information. Using it to get a leg up in business deals, using it to hurt/get revenge on political rivals, trading it for favors, etc.

Just like when trump, rudy and the gang were screaming voter fraud in front of every camera and then when they are in court it's "we are not arguing fraud."

Trumpers are freaking out online because DOJ posted the picture of classified documents on the internet. LMAO

Agree, I'm sure he would have wanted to make money off the same information multiple times never relinquishing ownership of them.

I don't. If he wants to defend Trump, who stuffs everyone he deserves to be stuffed.

Ehh, this is as complicated a legal situation as you can get, in terms of a nation not wanting criminals among its former presidents.

I imagine some kind of elaborate plea situation where he admits to some lesser counts which bar him from ever running for office again. Everyone breaths a partial sigh of relief and he spends the rest of his days pseudo-tweeting and bilking the MAGA faithful through online fundraising schemes. But that assumes he doesn't fire his lawyers or that they don't resign.

Whatever happens, he's kept himself, once again, right in the middle of the news cycle. Pretty remarkable.

And in terms of the strange WSJ editorial, what would they consider a "something burger" at this point? Live nuclear warhead at a politician's condo? A child p*rnography ring actually discovered in a pizza restaurant under a politician's condo? That was such a strange and literally counter-factual piece. Wonder what their journalists think of it, but then they're probably used to the disconnect.

I think you mean "stiffed," but I like the image of taxidermy too. It's like he leaves people in some grotesque, deadened caricature of their selves before they got involved with him. A grotesque sort of museum where his former associates are usually ruined or in jail.

I've thought about this as well. Imagine him pleading guilty to some sort of document handling deal and agreeing not to seek federal office but then spending the rest of his life on social media claiming he never did anything wrong and stirring up ****.

I don't think this is a real account. It's got to be a parody. Oh, unless that's on his Anything BUT Truth Social site.

Don't really have to guess on that one. WSJ Opinion Piece (I believe it's from the EB but strangely, no name associated with it, so not completely sure). July 6, 2016: Jim Comey’s Clinton Standard - WSJ

"Mrs. Clinton deliberately sought to evade the Federal Records Act, recklessly flouted laws on handling classified information, spent a year lying about it, and will now have escaped accountability."

Once he is indicted, they can begin negotiations - I am almost certain a deal will be reached where he stays out of politics and doesn't run for office.....but I am not sure Trump will abide by that deal.

    Will be interesting.

A legal deal to not run for office? If he's convicted of a felony that precludes most public offices anyway, so where's the bargaining power there?

If Trump is charged, they will make sure they have him tightly by the balls. His bargaining power will be fairly minimal.

A couple of problems with this theory:
    1) Would it alleviate ANY tension really at all if they do a deal like this? Feels like this would be just as damaging. A deal not to run for president again would feel to his supporters like this was absolutely a political hit job because they were scared they couldn't beat him.

    2) It's not clear at all that any type of legal conviction could prevent Trump from holding THE office.
