I think that ship has sailed. Didn't think the DoJ would indict this clown, but based on yesterday's public filing, I can't see how they can let this go. Maybe they will delay that because they have multiple investigations (Jan 6) to complete.
the time to comply was months ago when the DOJ was demanding the return of all these classified documents as well as other material that did not belong to him Say they can’t prove criminal intent? On what basis? Nobody will buy that
Seriously? This piece is claiming Trump is plying 4D chess by committing a crime of holding onto classified material. To what rally his base as the DOJ lawfully pursue him? What is it also with the WSJ and NYT op-Ed board downplaying the seriousness of classified documents?
Yeah they have been trying to give Trump an out for a year and a half. He kept declining to take it by not turning over all the documents. It didn't matter he had Top Secret documents. They were going to give him a pass. They just wanted all the documents. Had they received all of them then we wouldn't be here. Now they are out for blood due to Trump's repeated obstruction, etc.
Who cares whether Trump knew the specific content of the documents? He absolutely knew their classification. The photo shows how very plainly they were marked. The articles point that he just wanted to set up a test of strength with Biden and rile up Trump supporters is just as bad if not worse for Trump and adds credence to the charge that he encouraged the violence on 1/6. First, Biden has been staying out of the whole ordeal. So Biden didn't order this and it isn't something lead by the Democrats. The only thing relating to the Democrats in all of this is that that now, they can say that they were right all along. None of it removes criminal culpability. The evidence of obstruction is there. He was clearly caught with SCI documents and others. It is laughable that somehow it's a win for Trump. Had Trump not used the delay tactic the photo of the plainly marked evidence wouldn't have been released. The extraordinary steps the Justice Department went to attempting to get the documents back before the search warrant are laid out in the open. We see even more about the justification for the warrant. Trump just keeps shooting himself in the foot.
It’s obvious that DOJ and even many state prosecutors don’t want to risk indicting Trump. It still makes no sense that Michael Cohen and Weisselberg were convicted yet the guy who signed the checks isn’t even indicted. Its clear that Trump not being even indicted just invites him to do more. Cheating on his taxes and using campaign funds for hush money are bad but don’t affect the country that much. Maybe if he had been indicted on those it might’ve discouraged him from putting the safety of the country at risk like he has been doing holding onto classified material.
to have all this evidence and not indict would be a huge joke…would just further solidify that Trump is untouchable u might as well make him a legit god at that point all the talk of this being a witch hunt by a corrupt and biased FBI would be justified in the eyes of many
Or maybe -and hear me out on this - he's just a corrupt moron who saw the government as a tool for his vindictive ego and not something entrusted to him for four years.
Word on The Street is that the most tippy top super secret document, that Donald Trump stole and no longer has the clearance to read, is ... Birds Aren't Real. No way that should get out to the general public.
Dam, this just got even more incredible, after what we know about trump it doesn't shock me that he would hide classified docs from his own counsel and lie to his own team which now puts them on the hook for the lie, if I were his lawyer I would walk away , get my own council and sing like my life depended on it. The gop next step in there playbook will be that the documents are not really that bad. I wonder if they will allow a few people from each side to get briefed on what some of the documents contain so they can consult with others in there party to let them know how serious this is? You know someone would leak it though, if it was really bad and you had a respectable gop member go back to the rest of them and say , we need to cut bait and find another candidate as this is some serious sh*t.............or do they just ride this out and keep moving the goal posts. I am glad Garland has taken his time and appears to have crossed every t and dotted every I, its death by a thousand cuts...........maybe trump finally gets what's coming to him, he is a criminal who could have already shared and or sold information...........but my thought is he kept these to have an upper hand down the road when he was back in office. I dont believe for one second this is "ALL" the documents, I bet he has hidden some and they could only search certain areas so who knows.
To me he obviously wanted to sell these documents. Why else would he take them? And that (along with Jan 6th) is full on treason. How you people see this as a man for the USA is beyond me. He's the opposite.
definitely wouldn’t be surprised if he still has documents hidden away in other residences wouldn’t be surprised if he has copies of some of the documents that were confiscated as well
