It's basically the new way of providing entertainment.

With younger generation having shorter attention span, these folks only have to provide a few minutes/clips of entertainment to get paid well.

Old school folks like actors in movies, newer gen likes streamers and influencers

It's quite hard for folks to b rich doing this type of stuff since it's so competitive

U hear it all the time. Folks want to b streamers to b rich like the well known folks just to realize they ain't funny, pretty or even entertaining.

It's a risky lifestyle, always gotta b entertaining. But if u are pretty/sexy just start a hot tub stream or an onlyfans, u can bring in the dough.

Basically the online version of stripper/stripe tease

dude youtube is flooded with fake wanna bees with like 5 views
the food influencer one is just as bad

there are some people who show you the food and then in the video YOU DON'T SEE THEM EAT IT

the worst one I saw was some loser who was talking about Vegas shows, you click on it, assuming he went to the shows, he just goes down YELP and reads the reviews

    It's making content worse

They r trying to find their niche. One dude became well known for making ice cream scoops, another for subways sandwiches, one girl struck gold popping pimples. Lol on tik tok there is a dude that is quite popular for biking around LA doing food deliveries

U don't know if u don't try. Ever hear of uncle Nigel? Who would have thought an Asian dude acting like the old man Asian stereotype shtting on white Chef cooking would b so popular.

For every well known entertainer there's a sht ton of folks trying to find the next trend of entertainment

it's an experiment, but you can't make that your goal.
the more kids wanting to be influencers or tiktok stars, the less productive our society is going to be
there will slow scientific advancements and labor shortage for real jobs

Well the ones who went your route is now heavily in debt, me included. Higher Education is so expensive these days.

The lure of a debt free entertainment life is much more alluring than grinding it out in school, and work for your dough. Different mindset.

I think our society will b fine. Like I'm pretty sure back then a ton of kids wanted to b movie actors and professional athletes just to realize the harsh reality.

I paid back my loans. High Education is expensive but you know the colleges and corporations have relationships.
For example, a company I worked for hired like 70% MBAs from Michigan
if you work for a big company, you'll see a trend on educational institutions where they get their employees

    Like getting to the NBA
it is a LOT more work than people think
Competing for those views is high

It is a REAL Job . .. .. .Imagine posting and tweeting 8 hours a day every day
Even doing a skit takes some planning and organization
try doing one a day . . .. . .and making them actually interesting

some people got it. . . but most dont
Even those that got it . .. maybe 3 out 5 skits are worth a simple "interesting"

If u are pretty, u don't even have to b entertaining or interesting. U just need exposure. Instagram models make bank. They aren't entertaining.

Lol I'm sure I will pay of my loan eventually. It's just the Even younger folks r more exposed to these entertainers with the use of the internet. Education is the least on their mind.

Why focus on doing something I don't like aka studying when I could potentially b rich posting on social media. Eventually these folks will realize it ain't sustainable and have to pivot to something else.

Most people don't become Elon Musk, even though they hate him or are jealous, you have to have a special skillset and other things to be the top of the food chain. Obviously with sports. you can be the best 5 foot point guard, and no you won't be in the NBA.

The 'rules' haven't changed, get a good degree from a 'top tier' college and you will get a high paying job.

    Med degree at Johns Hopskins
    Tech Degree at MIT
    Business degree at Wharton etc

But if you are rich already like a Kardasian, you can easily risk being on a reality show and sleep with half the NBA
you will actually be more popular and improve your net worth because society likes trash

I just think the greater earning potential is what draws younger folks. U can't b a kim Kardashian working in the health field.

Sure higher education leads to high paying job, it ain't gonna bring In the big Kardashian money. Thats the main selling point for the young gen.

I can become super rich, quick and easy

    If you notice the trend
The kids who are following the path of high education are immigrants (legal) or foreign students who’s parents can afford to send their kids to the states for college.
Your nurses, doctors, software engineers etc
Are not like our girl in the video
It’s the kids who are spoiled in America who don’t want the hard traditional route
If they end up going to college they go there for the social fun and then go back because the real world is hard , so they need to switch careers or get another degree in social work or humanities

Sure .. . .like singers. . . .. the ones you hear about
Most of the others are Ham and Eggers. . . . ..They may make what amounts to maybe 20$/Hr job
but they are always on and work far more hours
