Has anyone seen this show yet? Takes place in Houston I'm 6 episodes in and this show is amazing especially if you know the Alief area well.
The scene where he goes to his immigration lawyer's office is in 3rd Ward. There's also a scene at Breakfast Klub. Only watched two episodes so far but I'm enjoying it.
The absolute last thing I want to do after working all day around town including Alief is watch a movie about someone living in Alief. Moar Star Wars/GoT/Marvel escapism, please, thx. Real life sucks.
Oh I didn't know it was based in Alief!! im going to watch this now. Its always cool watching mainstream media from Houston people or the setting is Houston.
Watched the first episode. This is Alief for real. Mo went to Hastings (irl) they even Have Tobe Nwigwe the rapper as his best friend in the show who went to Elsik (irl) in this show. Even the house his mother lives in is the classic Alief Huntington Village layout! It's crazy. I was almost watching for more Alief iconography than the plot. Mo even put in the Alief diversity. Asians, Muslims, white people, Hispanics, Africans and Blacks all in Alief just existing together. I like it. Treating Alief like they do Brooklyn in every show ever. pretty cool.
Love the cap he wears. I wish I had kept mine. This is one time I wish I had Netflix - this show kind of looks funny. Even got Bun B in it. lol
I finished it in one night! . 2 episodes before the Astros game, then 6 more after. 23 minutes each. I liked it a lot, any immigrant from wherever can relate to it. I didn't find it to be extremely funny but it was still bingeworthy. It had funny moments. The one scene you had to suspend disbelief had to be where he is picking olives outside of Houston in a Grey Houston Astros shirt and the dude has no sweat stains. Homeboy be looking like DJ Khaleed. There is a Houston sports team reference in every episode. Not really familiar with Alief
I binged the entire series in one go. Hoping for season 2, so dope watching the show and recognizing nearly all the locations.
