Sengun should have started from day 1. Everyone here for months was begging for him to start and get more minutes, rightfully so.
These are the only two possible outcomes of a Green benching: 1. Less development 2. More winning Both are bad. So why bench him?
He could learn a lot by accountability, I prefer to say, he should be coming off the bench......as we have better players ahead of him right now and he should have to strive to beat them out. We are much worse with him on the floor though, so we might win a couple more games......as long as we stay bottom 3 I guess.....but even then....if we are just going to take another guy that is 3 years away....why draft so high? DD
What these people think : Because he needs to EARN IT. Because he needs to WANT IT. What is really going on here: Because logic doesn't apply.
I mean it's a lost season so you're not wrong on one level. But Sengun just on paper is/was not as productive as Wood (and i don't even like Wood and think he racks up empty #s) and his lack of stamina/fouling issues precluded this in the early season. He's getting more starts now, as his conditioning improves and he fouls less. Conversely his per minute production is going down. None of this should really be surprising to anyone. I mean, we have intuitive evidence, statistical evidence, and Sengun's own words saying the NBA schedule was rough on his stamina - not sure what else we need. I just don't get what the evidence is that putting 3 or 4 minutes more (or less) to Sengun/Green in their rookie seasons here and there is going to make much difference in the end. It's not. Bench Jalen Green? For who? Garrison Mathews? I remember some saying play Armoni Brooks instead lol. They are all better than Jalen Green is what they told me. And even if they were at that time none of that mattered. Short sighted thinking. Armoni Brooks and Gary Bird are dime a dozen fringe NBA players. Send him back to the G-League you say? Oh really? LOL, how did I miss this thread? people wanted to start borderline NBA caliber players like Gary over a developing #2 overall pick, but these same people had no issue with KPJr starting and getting 30+ minutes even tho he was just as atrocious as Green for most of the year the hypocrisy
It's hilarious. You'd think this would be a good lesson for some posters but the hottake kneejerk threads won't ever stop.
I post with my emotions at times, he had a very rough start. At times he appeared be pissy. BUT…. Time has shared not everyone was on the same page, so maybe it is all justified.
Ew thread .. hope everyone learns from there mistakes and applies the lessons learned if Jabari starts the season cold too.
