For any pro who signed their initial contract as an 18-year-old or younger, that player becomes eligible for the Rule 5 draft after their fifth professional season. Any player who initially signed at 19 or older is eligible after their fourth professional season.

The person who told my friend this (what I passed along here) is someone that everyone on here knows. If he told you this (or anyone else on here) you wouldn't be popping off like you did, and if you did (to his face) he'd more than likely tell you to F off.

Dude, it was a throwaway Ferris Bueller joke. I was not impugning your credibility or manhood or whatever.

Didn't mean to offend. Can we be friends again?

I wouldn't worry too much about Buck's opinion... He adds very little actual content to the discussion... a lot of passive-aggressive snark and bad jokes but very little value-add.

So you guys think Click ignored Crane? LOL. If there was a reasonable CF option, he would have jumped on it. Nobody on this board has been able to identify who this CF is. Looks like we dodged a bullet with Bell at 1b. The Astros have made it clear that they do not view Tucker as a CF and that would not have been made public if Crane was endorsing that as a solution. We got outbid by a crazy SD front office and almost every decision Crane has made not to push the panic button has been correct. We are headed to the post season with maybe the best record in the AL. Dusty’s insane stubbornness with Yuli and Maldonado and untimely injuries are more to blame for our offensive issues than anything Crane has done.

Speaking of SD, Hader has been a total disaster for them. What a crazy turn of events for them since the deadline (Bell underperforming, Hader imploding, Tatis suspension). Think we have it bad? At least we're not the Padres.

Josh Bell had some brutal BABIP luck over his first few weeks, but water has found it's level and he's started to rake. Even with his comically low .200 BABIP and terrible start, he still has a higher OBP than Yuli as a Padre.

Would still easily take him as our 1B.

I'd take Mancini at 1B, but just because he's on our team doesn't mean he gets a chance to play there.

You should be happy for them. They have been terrible for a long time. They are ran by all former Astros executives. If anything, the Orioles are just mimicking Houston which is the ultimate form of flattery. Easily my second favorite team in baseball right now.

Houston wasn't at full strength and this team has a history of not really caring in August let alone the regular season.

Come playoff time, they will do what they always do.

Call me crazy but I could see Seth ****ing Martinez saving our ass come playoff time. Unfortunately, he won’t make the roster.

The rosters for each series could be different. The ALCS roster need a fifth starter who may not be the best reliever option in the other series.

I'd be shocked if we didn't have to adjust out thinking between now and time to set our first playoff roster.

Yes I am aware of the similarities. And they have always been my 2nd team. I hope that come playoff time, we do a little more than we have since 2017 and actually take the whole thing.

Hear me out: Kevlar stealth gloves with a layer of ultragel on the palm side to absorb the torque of Yordan's swing? I need test subjects.
Now both hands are bothering Yordan. It's no coincidence he hasn't been Yordan from June and July.

Per BaseballSavant: Opposing pitchers have thrown Jeremy Peña 187 changeups this season, which accounts for 12.2% of the pitches he's seen. He has swung at 121 of those pitches (64.7%) and has a 42.7% whiff rate. Peña has a .140 batting average on changeups w/one extra base hit

I wonder if we could like, bang a trash can or something, to let him know it's coming. ?
