I liked the flow of first episode and really enjoyed it overall. There is great tension and drama already, this has a ton of potential. The casting seems very solid and I have high hopes moving forward.
If you have a 4k HDR TV, please don't watch this on cable TV. Watch it on the HBO Max app. Don't do the show a disservice like that.
If you liked earlier seasons medieval politics of GOT I think it’s safe to say you’ll like it so far. Just need to prepare yourself for time jumps. It’s a series that is snap shots of a ten year period of a civil war. I think you’ll notice a higher level of writing and directing though for sure.
Writing has been good. They accomplished a great feat. They got my wife hooked. Tough for any TV series to do. Impressive.
The dialogue in the scene between the two Targaryen princesses and the dialogue/scene on the bridge of Dragonstone reminded me why I loved the books and original seasons of GoT so much.
I guess the twist is that the Targ king isn't lusting for his daughter and his fiance is likely a victim of incest? White hair better not be a recessive trait.
