Harsh reality suggests Yordan will not be healthy again this season Astros aren't winning the WS this season I'll still watch, hope, and cheer for the alternative Texans are undefeated preseason champs, so at least there's that
The Blue Jays (everybody’s “we don’t want to face them in the ALDS” team) have been smoked at home against the Angels of all teams. I agree with whoever said now’s the time to bottom out/not peak. Slightly worried about Yordan’s hand and why they don’t feel time off is needed, but otherwise just continue to keep everybody fresh/healthy.
Quite possibly the worst sports take in the history of sports takes. Lance was this teams ace last year. The team has been excited about his comeback all season. No way anyone on that team thought he was going to the bullpen. Javier likey only went to the bullpen for one rotation. It's just as much about limiting innings for a pitcher nearing a career high as anything else. Off days have been removed in the ALCS and WS so 5 good starters are needed. The Astros need to see that they have that with Lance, making Garcia the odd man out.
Took Yuli out of the 2 spot but him smack in an important RBI spot. Considering who's batting behind him I guess that's about as low as you can drop him.
Under the circumstances, it;s the best BO possible with the players selected to play. Alvarez needs rest for his hand. McCormick still nursing his pinky. Meyers just not useful RIGHT NOW. Vasquez not catching for Verlander. This would be a good day for Hensley to show us his OBP skill. 40 man roster decisions will have to be made this week for post season eligibility. I do wonder if they might intentionally place a likely IL candidate on there just so they can do an injury swap in September.
lance rarely if ever goes 6 or even 7 innings and we are paying him more than urquidy, javier and garcia combined lol. Plus when lance is taxed, his arm tends to break down. He was always more of a bullpen guy to me, never starter material. He walks too many guys and we constantly have to watch his pitch count. Javier was starting to come into his own, now we may have ruined the kids confidence over an overrated pitcher who was never able to control his stuff
There has to be something which interferes with the swing path or else golf clubs and bats would have gone there years ago. Perhaps it hinders adjustments.
I actually agree with most of this. Lance has amazing stuff. I think its better than Javier’s. However, Lance has never really been able to put it together consistently. He certainly has had some dominant performances, but not as many anymore. You are spot on about his pitch count sloppiness, and that has always been an issue. Lance has to get hitters to chase out of the zone to be effective. So this is one of the reasons for the walks and high pitch counts.
I'm not worried about Javier's confidence. I just want him starting because he's our third best pitcher at worst. Just because he's better in the pen than other inferior starters just doesn't make sense to me.
