I think I might have to now based on this scene alone. This is pure insanity and is that Common the rapper lmao

I saw the first one and was unimpressed. For all the hype, it was... ok. Part of me wondered if I had been ruined by the action in The Raid 1 & 2 because I don't think anything else can compare.

I might try it again someday. Give it another shot.

The JW movies are a lot of hyperstylized, over the top, somewhat Euro fun fighting movies.

I agree 100%, The Raid movies are next level. I don't understand how the director isn't booked solid. His next movie, Havoc, looks good, though.

Damn, I hadn't even heard of Havoc. That's a strong cast. I will definitely check it out.

I still think the teaser for The Raid 2 is one of the best teasers ever made:

John Wick is some of the best stylized action you will ever see. The Raid 1 and 2 is some of the most raw martial arts action you will ever see. Both must see action film franchises.

I have never seen the raid, I really need to get on that.

I am about done with the Wick movies they are all about the fights now and how outlandish they can make them, almost no real plot anymore.

    No real stakes anymore.

I don't recall any closeups of hot girl asses in these movies so it's probably not for you.

I’m not blown away by the John Wick movies but they make for good entertainment. Some nice judo in them too.

I remember seeing this in the theatre. The audience around me was laughing (good kind), along with ooohs and ahhs; really made it a good experience.

Isn't that the main selling point for these movies? Who actually goes to see these for the plot?

The first one can basically be summarized as "some bad people shoot and kill a dog and the dog's owner seeks revenge by using weapons." It's not deeper than that one sentence. Haven't seen any of the sequels, but I'm sure the plot is paper-thin for all of them.

To each their own of course, but as with anything if you walk in with the right expectations you'll likely enjoy something more. Most audiences don't watch dramas for non-stop laughs, or rom coms for the stunts and action sequences, etc. I watch an action movie for what it's supposed to do best, and as far as that it's one of the all-time great action franchises IMO.

I cannot emphasize this enough: DO NOT WATCH IT WITH ENGLISH DUBBED OVER.

Don't do it. Don't. And I'm not even saying that because dubbed over language looks stupid (it does) but because when you choose the English dub, it also replaces the original soundtrack with Linkin Park. It's disgusting.

Who the hell watches John Wick for the plot?

John Wick is a fun action movie series…nothing more, nothing less

I thought the plot was he came back to destroy his former hitmen friends because they kill the puppy his dead wife gave him. Then, he did that but then they wouldn't leave him alone so he has to take on all of them everywhere. But, it's still about a puppy right?

Seems like a perfectly watchable plot to me. Nobody kills a puppy and gets away with it.

The 1st 2 had actual plots they were outlandish and fantastical but they made sense in that universe, the conflicts were organic to the plot.

The last one was more about how can I get to the next fight scene actual plot be dammed.

And then you make Wick pretty much a superhero.

I am not watching these movies for the plot but I am also not just watching them for the fight scenes, it's the same with the Fast and Furious movies I have never watched a complete movie, I need a little meat on the bone for a coherent plot.

I really liked the 1st 2 movies maybe it was the world-building about the assassination world I could get into those machinations.

I'm not a guy who is all that interested in a fight scene per say, I like a good one but I don't like movies that are built around fight scenes or action set pieces.

The Mission Impossible series has the right balance IMO.

I've not seen any of these movies and I feel ashamed for it.
