The fact is there was not a seamless orderly transition of power. For the first time in US history, violence broke out during the presidential transitional period due to a President insisting the election was stolen from him. His statement reflects that he recognizes 1) Biden will be sworn in and 2) he can't do sh*t about it anymore. Conceding is simply stating you lost. He never did that and continues to claim he won.
Ask yourself this...if a president thought an election was stolen from him, what actions would he take?
You can't have a seamless and orderly transition of power without acknowledging you lost the election. Maybe a better way to characterize the events is "Trump didn't concede the election until he did." But at the end of the day, he did.
U r quite capable in the arts of mental gymnastics. How about this lets wait until Biden term ends assuming he's not running again and if he doesn't give up his powers peacefully then we could all agree he is a dictator. If he does give up power then u would admit to the board that u were just being salty that his agenda doesn't align with yours so u like to go around accusing folks of backing a said dictator.
We're talking about whether or not student loan cancellation is constitutional. Assuming it gets kicked up to the Supreme Court, would you be interested in a tip jar wager on the outcome? After all, you seem to think that Biden has acted within his authority. I think he's exceeded it. Don't you think a tip jar wager would be fun?
No u r going around accusing folks of supporting a dictator since biden overexceed his authority. This is the basis of the entire thing, Biden is a dictator that abused his power to push student loans relief and that I and many others support his move. You have a simple argument is that Dictators don't give up power. When Biden gives up power then u were wrong about him being dictator which is akin to u being wrong him abusing his power and whatever nonsense u came up with since his agenda doesn't align with yours. All it takes is for biden to give up power when his term ends and for u to b wrong for accusing folks of backing a "dictator".
Actually, I said that if you're ok with a President exceeding his authority (if it aligns with your goals), then you support dictatorship. I think that's a fair statement.
You can see what Gore did in 2000 regarding the proper channels. You can call for recounts. You can file lawsuits regarding how states are counting votes. Once those are exhausted though you’ve come to the end of legal challenges. What you can’t do is try to pressure state officials to “find” votes for you of for the VP to reject duly appointed electors. You also shouldnt be be calling for your supporters to come and be wild at the Capitol or have your surrogates call for things like “trial by combat”.
Can you cite specifically how a Biden exceeded his authority? My understanding is that the power for loan forgiveness was made under the HEROES Act legislation that empowered the executive branch in times of crisis to forgive federal student debt.
That is not what u said. Stop moving goal post now. Your words were simply So you're ok with a dictatorship as long as your goals are aligned with the dictator's? Biden is gonna give up his power when his term ends. With that simple move, biden cant b a dictator. Since according to u, no dictator gives up power. Regardless if my goals for student loan relief align with biden, he aint a dictator and u were just being salty about it accusing folks of backing a dictatorship. It's one thing to not agree with someone agenda, it's another to accuse folks of being okay with a dictatorship. We could wait until Biden officially surrender his power when his term(s) end or settle it now that biden aint a dictator and that u were just being salty that his agenda doesn't line up with yours.
Wait what? Cancelling student debt = dictatorship? I don't know anymore man, I'm glad the Biden administration is finally calling out the stupidity of these people, it needs to be done.
"Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th" He didn't acknowledge he lost. He doesn't even say he accepts or will take part in the transition - it's just something that will happen. This is not a concession.
All I know is Republicans typically like to throw around words like communism, socialist and dictator when things don't go their way. Basically akin to throwing a tantrum and name calling. Wekko behavior is basically how I expect most Republicans to act. I wonder what mental gymnastics he/she gonna say when Biden surrenders his power when the time comes.
