Ppp loans were just basically a way for politicians to get free money. They then have the nerve to btch about how 10k is too much to help students. Hypocrites.
Speaking of that... If he were successful (and let's be honest, this isn't the first time he's done this and possibly been successful) and had impregnated a child, she'd have been forced to have that child.
It was to help actual folks who needed help during the pandemic, not surprised we have Republicans politicians who abused it and got loan forgiveness. Same folks who btches about how unfair students want loan forgiven
I don't think playing lose with executive powers to forgive student loans qualifies as "dictator moves". To me dictator moves are like moves when you try to gaslight the country into believing you won an election you lost and trying to scare individual election board emoloyees with their career if they don't "find votes" or using your executive powers like DeSantis did to create performative arrests to propagate narratives of election fraud. You can say it's a overreach of power but not every overreach of power is some nefarious attempt to achieve a goal of authoritarian dictatorship.
Implementing authority that you don't have is certainly a dictator move. How exactly is gaslighting a "dictator" move?
Hmm I assume dictators usually ignore election results even if they lost by millions of votes and spam fake narratives while also calling election officials around the country and threatening them by telling them they will unleash the political attack hounds which they did which led to hundreds of death threats and a riot at our capitol building to prevent the certification of a election. Usually I think dictators do that type of stuff more than issuing an executive order to forgive 10,000 dollars worth of federally backed student loans per individual. From just a common sense perspective I feel like it's obvious which type of behavior is more "dictator" like.
Dictators would ignore election results and stay in power....like Lukashenko. Having a temper tantrum is different than being a dictator. Yes, it is obvious.
The GOP l-o-v-e-s socialism for the rich, wants rugged individualism for the rest. Hypocrites. Imagine pocketing ppp loans, getting it forgiven then proceed to btch about 10k-20k loan relief for students around the country.
You understand the concept of intent right? Lukashenko is a autocrat of a country without a long history of strong Democratic Republic institutions. That means there aren't many checks and balances of various long standing institutions. Which leads to a situation where someone like Lukashenko doesn't have to convince as many people to go along with his plan to be an authoritarian. The United States have long standing democratic republic institutions. That means many more checks and many more people someone like Trump has to convince to go along with his lunacy. What you call the "deep state" are those institutions. So in other words, Trump given the conditions of a country like Belarus would have a significantly higher chance of successfully becoming a dictator.
