    "BECAUSE I LINKED TO THE WHITE HOUSE STATEMENT" ... this person seems pretty disingenuous.

    I strongly support fact-checking being integrated into any posts that are propagated into automated, algrorithm-generated news feeds. But it is a band-aid to a broken system.

    That’s a great graphic. A lot of these issues are obvious, but it’s worth being reminded of them as we consume media. We are constantly being manipulated whether we realize it or not.

    Social media companies weren't bullied into submission (unless you are talking Twitter/Musk), but rather tempted by greed. It was naive to think - and many people pointed this out from the get go - that FB would forever send mass amounts of traffic off it's platform. Everyone knew that was going to change someday. Well, obviously Buzzfeed didn't.
