Yes, that is a good point, but that is precisely what this season is about, finding the 3-5 people you are going to try to build around, and identifying them and locking them in, and getting rid or trading those that are not in those plans to clear the logjam of players so the ones you want get the majority of the developmental playing time. EG is the best player that's established which is crystal clear. but he's not really relevant to the future of the franchise. Green is the most talented and has the highest upside
At this stage, it’s like arguing over the tallest midget. We are still very much in “what do we have mode”.
It would be VERY good for the team if that happened. That said though, Green and KPJ are only a year and a half apart in age, so I think it's reasonable to expect him to continue to improve as well, which is only a good thing for the team.
It's irrelevant, and this strikes me as a bit of a troll thread. But I think it's Green. KPJ may have more of an all-around game at the moment, but as a facilitator, he doesn't have a great basketball IQ; his defense gets overrated; and he's not an efficient scorer despite being such a strong spot up shooter. Green has the potential to start the season off averaging 20+ a night and going so efficiently—he's got a single elite skill that sets him apart from KPJ. And the thing he's elite at is the most highly sought after skillset in the sport. If I had to choose between a guy averaging an inefficient 17, 6 and 4 with average to above average defense or a guy capable of putting up an efficient 22-23 a night with so-so secondary stats and defense, give me the guy who can be a true No. 1 offensively. That's not a knock on KPJ, but I just have more doubts about him than I do Green at the moment.
