The cool thing about that question is the answers are all exciting. Jalen Green Alperen Sengun Jabari Smith Jr. Tari Eason Others obviously available to choose from but just from a talent stand point, that's some badass talent to start with.
Ya I agree he might be the best player at least from last season. Saying that KPJ is the best player on the team right now is a reasonable statement. I'm merely saying that Green due to his age and talent has a good chance of reaching "best player on the team" by middle to end of next season. This is the period of time we're NBa players show the most rapid development (19-21)
I was talking to @Clutch on one of the Rocket's watches, and I am looking at the roster to see who might breakout as a LEADER, who has the personality of leadership on the current roster. Sometimes it develops in odd ways, but the 2 I see that have the most leadership potential at this moment - are Christopher and Eason - their personality types are infectious and people innately follow them. Now it maybe Green that blows up and becomes that guy, but right now, he is a quiet assassin, same for KPJ - but guys that seem to have that GET OUT AND DO IT attitude...it is Christopher and Eason. DD
Are you telling me thread titles do not reflect reality? I don't know to whom to trust anymore. For a more serious answer it is Gordon. I would put KPJ and Green into second tier. Then Sengun. Then the rest. Hopefully by the end of this season Gordon will 2nd or 3rd best player. Otherwise things are not looking very good.
I excluded Ego myself because 1) he's constantly hurt and 2) he is most definitely not part of our core going forward. Otherwise, I agree that Ego is still our best player. For me, it goes like this... Ego > Green > KPJ
Big fan of Splash -- but he's not the guy on defense that he used to be. Some of us give him a pass due to the sentimental value, but he's basically an offensive weapon now. Splash rocked a 121 drating last year which was tied for WORST on the team with DJ Augustin l!
Bobby still finding ways to hate on Green because he made him look like a bigger idiot then his posts and mirror do
I don't know whether or not his scoring is on an elite level yet. I want to say yes, but want to see how he starts the year. Will he come out blazing like he did down the stretch? If so, I think he might already be. He was projected as a possible future scoring champion and during that stretch he showed that potential no doubt. - The only rookie in the last 40 years besides AI to score 30 or more 5 gms in a row. - Set record for 3's made in a month by a rookie. - Led all guards with 69 dunks on the season. Pretty sure Stone is happy with his selection. Can't wait to see how Jabari and Tari follow it up.
Green without hesitation. Although Jabari could potentially become that player. I think his D is going to be on another level.
You know my stance. He's a clown. No NBA player leaves a game at halftime. His lunatic fans are worse than LOFs. Lin sucked but at least he wasn't a loser like KPBUM
I’m going to do everything in my power to get you a signed KPJ jersey and then we are gonna go cheer him on together at a rockets game after he wins MIP
I'm eager to see real answer to this question. AFTER the season. If the question was who was Rockets best player LAST SEASON then the answer more clear cut.
I honestly think it is Eason. I think Eason will be our Draymond Green. The Vocal leader of the group. He works hard on both ends of the court and is relentless with his work ethic/love for the game.
I am waiting for Eason to play actual games before I formulate any real opinions of my own. That said, I am very excited about him and Jabari this upcoming season.
