Whelp with that sort of injury thunders r going full tank from the start. I'm glad that we r progressing so much further along than the thunders process.
wow feel sorry for the kid. Not really Rockets related as he was off the board before we picked but a tragedy none the less.
So they tank, draft Wemby, Chet fully recovers, comes back strong and they look like this... Giddey SGA J Williams Chet Wemby
In a perfect world the stars aligned and that team become a franchise dynasty. But that ain't happening cause we r gonna draft wemby.
Man that is tough! I was only briefly on the Chet hype train, luckily. As far as his career goes, likely will never amount to all-star status but hope they find a way for him to play in this league. Thunder being worst team is not guaranteed of a #1 pick, you’d think Rockets fans of all ppl would know that…I actually rather finish 3-4th worst. Look at recent history of who got the #1 pick and where they finished
With the expected growth of our core, the addition of Jabari and Tari, new defensive minded assistants and Silas opening up the playbook, I do not see us landing the top pick in 23. Not saying will make the playoffs, but this team will be in a lot more games. So many teams are going to be tanking for that kid. Unless Stone and Silas are true tank commanders, we probably end up with the 6th-10th worst record. Still in the lottery, but odds are not great.
hey man, i got nothin against Chet - i wish him nothing but the best... but IN MY OPINION he has all the earmarks of someone that is going to have an injury riddled career... Maybe that will be the case - maybe not... none of us KNOW what will happen - so ANY opinion is pure conjecture... but for a person (with EITHER OPINION) to express their view as the unquestionable future certainty - while belittling folks with the opposite OPINION is pure stupidity. Folks that want to believe Chet is going to have a long and healthy career - fine... we can disagree, and I'm not out here saying "You're an idiot - i guarantee this guy will have an injury plagued career - and if you dont see that, then you dont understand the game and yer stupid and you have a low basketball IQ and yer ignorant and you don't understand this that and the other..." and if you noticed, I replied to the INDIVIDUAL that was DIRECTLY giving ME crap and belittling MY OPINION... it wasnt some "All you people that thought..." rant... This is sports... we do this for fun... why do people have to get so dug into their OPINION that they have to be all nasty and attacktive defending that OPINION...? That's the problem with the world today... too many people pushing their OPINIONS as facts and inevitable certainties - and in reality they're jus talkin out their a$$ - while trying to present the air of being better informed and more knowledgeable than those who hold a differing OPINION. Opinions are like a**holes - everyones got one - and most all stink... edit... howabout, now? dude didnt even make it to PREseason - before being lost for the year... https://nypost.com/2022/08/25/chet-holmgren-out-for-rookie-season-after-injury-vs-lebron-james/
Sucks. Is this more of a freak injury or a harbinger of things to come? I weight more than Chet at 5’10” so is this really something inherent with his body type? It’s not like he’s a Yao Ming with all that weight.
Why? What did Lebron do?? That was a routine play, Chet has done repeatedly. He didn't get stepped on, he planted his foot and that was it. It happens.
Sucks Hopefully it’s not that serious and they would just rather tank and start building up Chet’s nba body for when the real run starts. It will be good for him to do a full years weight training and conditioning
Going down Bill Walton style. Sad. Yeah we definitely dodged a bullet. We saw what foot problems did to Yao. At least Yao played most games his first 5 seasons. Once he broke his foot he was never the same.
