Not tired. Stop that silly narrative.

They just were never that great as what they showed in the first 4 months of the season.

    It's Verlander, Jesus.

No one got on base in 6 innings other than a batter that struck out!

Come on people, keep it together.

    Believe it Or Not

The bullpen was worn the **** out the last week or so.

Seems the Astros cannot put more distance between them and the Yankees. when they lose, we usually lose as well.

Verlander is more about winning a Cy Young than a no-hitter. The last time he pitched against the White Sox, he was winning the game and Cease was gone. Had he decided to leave that game instead of staying in the game, his ERA would of been a lot lower and likely could of won with 2 run lead. And his last inning, he threw 2 balls that sailed on him and that told him to leave instead of trying for a no-hitter. Having a Cy Young gets you more money and prestige. Throwing a no-hitter maybe more TV time and interviews. If he didn't have that surgery, he would of gone for it.

    Justin Verlander is special.

I am excited for playoff JV when he starts amping up his stuff.

We have already seen that he still has 99 mph when he wants it.

The BP is becoming a huge concern.

BP ERA is around 8 in the past week. They aren't this bad. Batters go through slumps, sometimes it seems like team wide batting slumps. Pitching can have slumps too.

So 32 games in 32 days is no reason to be fatigued and underperforming? The Stros get alot more rest time coming up; that'll help.

Not trying to play arm-chair GM but the pitchers on the roster have pretty much been "healthy" and available all year. There weren't any sketchy IL stints and minor league call-ups to get the bullpen guys a few week breather. You know, the LAD plan churning relievers that was pretty much banned. Probably would have been good to rotate in a few arms from AAA at some point, but whats done is done.

Hopefully the Astros get a decent look at Hunter Brown in September. I think between him and Abreu, it could make this bullpen special.

    I think he's looking for some all-time numbers: 300 wins (top 25), 3,500 K's (top 10), a 3rd Cy Young (tied for 5th), and, if possible, a 4th no-hitter (top 3). Just adding to the legacy.

Why do you think a starting pitcher is going to help the Pen. It is not as easy to come out of the pen when you have been starting.

If they're going back to the 5 man...who's going back to the pen?
