You understand we can make the same exact accusation. The wealthiest people on this planet who have actual lobbying power that you don't have are the ones who want to gut the IRS and only audit people like you and me and ignore their avoidance schemes while you b**** about how your tax payer money ain't fixing the damn potholes.

Am I subservient because I corrected your erroneous claim that there will be 87,000 new agents?

Treasury Department report from May 2021, it's not made up from thin air. Dems first response is to say that's been debunked by using sources who's job is is to debunk information that harms dems.

Yeah, I do think that this will benefit the middle class. High earners (over 400K a year) paying the appropriate amount of taxes will benefit the middle and lower class.

Real estate prices are in part higher because leeches are buying the homes, rehabbing them and then selling them and because now 1:3 homes purchased are being purchased by third parties. That is a big reason that home prices are way to high. Cut that 1:3 number to 10% as it once was and home ownership would be far more affordable. Joe Biden has been President for roughly 18 months, but some how has managed to change everything in the USA.... when the reality is that he took over a country that was in bad shape.

You don't have to like or even think Biden is a good President, but blaming everything on a man in office for 18 months is insincere.

    Like I said you’re a dumbass…

The figure comes from a prior Treasury Department proposal to hire roughly that many IRS employees over the next decade, but there is no explicit mandate for such a workforce in the act, officials and experts say.

Many new IRS hires will replace employees who are expected to retire or quit, and not all of them will be auditors, nor will a majority of them be gun-carrying agents.

I never claimed they would carry guns or all be auditors, but the budget specifically provides the resources for that many hires.

Sorry pal, but if you are a left thinking person, you are the one I consider a dumbass. On top of that, you are a prick.

There is nothing that says 87000 AGENTS. There is money for UP TO 87000 EMPLOYEES over the next TEN years.

exactly. The billionaires, corporation, super wealthy don’t pay their fair share of taxes, because of code structure NOT because we don’t have enough audits , agents etc. this won’t change that. These individuals have teams of CPAs and lawyers that don’t fold the second the word “tax fraud comes out” which anybody that isn’t capable of finding multiple private planes will likely pay whatever the IRS demands

it’s appalling reading this thread, it’s as if people making 400K plus are somehow this group finding loopholes and cheating etc. these are the small business owners, the professionals etc that in todays economy I would actually consider upper upper middle class

“don’t cheat on your taxes!” Hmm yea I’m sure that’s what it is for these folks. Given their income is that and they likely have a CPA and are already paying taxes they want to risk task fraud and penalties etc. maybe it’s the fact that Our tax code is incredibly ****ing complex hence paying people a lot of money to conduct it.

he’ll, there isn’t even a consensus on how to properly report crypto even with the automated forms. Maybe you’re supposed to go through rhe 30K trades individuals across multiple platforms.

there isn’t an easy answer for this complex issue, as stated above the real culprits who people keep beating off to thinking are “finally going to pay their fair share” are unaffected because their exemptions etc depend on the current tax code which is NOT changing

again, this is why people don’t vote blue as well as the rhetoric used in this thread

It is actually both. Code and statutory laws are certainly part of the equation, but so are people under-reporting income because they know the chance of being caught is low when compared to the punishment.

There are studies going back nearly 20 years that show that the wealthy cheat more on their taxes and under report earnings. Some of the studies show that the income for those making over a million dollars is under reported by as much as 20% on average.

The treasury department research found the same thing. A lot of the maneuvers are illegal, but require a lot of man hours to catch, such as borrowing money against their portfolio, etc.

About 1.5% of US home incomes make $400,000 a year or more.

The tax code being complex is another issue and one I agree with you on, but it isn't relative to what this law concerns.

The studies and even the treasury department studies have concluded that the wealthy are cheating on their taxes at a far higher rate than those that are not wealthy.

Also, the penalties are not really stopping a lot of people when the rate of those being caught is low, and the penalties are often palatable when considering the odds.

again, this is why people don’t vote blue as well as the rhetoric used in this thread[/QUOTE]

There are a number of reasons that people don't vote blue, but this expenditure isn't going to be the reason why. People are not going to be sympathetic to the top 1.5%-2% of the population being forced to do what they are supposed to be doing anyway.

How about we cut Medicare and SSN so the wealthy can continue to not pay their share?
