One plot point I wish they'd experiment with more, is the consequences of Banner's blood mixed with other people's blood. Like, She-Hulk is She-Hulk because she is a cousin (assuming related by blood). What if anyone else's open wound got Banner's blood splashed on them? Would they die due to the lethal dose of gamma radiation, as mentioned by Hulk? And if that's the case, how would Banner not give off gamma radiation just by walking around other people? I mean, Hulk's blood went inside of her wound. Easily explainable and as much believable as Peter Parker getting some super spider DNA and becoming Spidey. It's a comic book show after all. The ending was kinda wonky, though. I think she's supposed to be the big bad for season 1, but she felt like a throwaway villain.
The comic origin is similar but better, Banner gives her a blood transfusion to save her life after a car accident which gives her a lesser version of the Hulk condition.
I like it. it's fun. The feminist slant in 2022 is so cringe though. Is this the only way they think they can elevate a strong female character? Writing all men are evil and incompetent is tired.
When you hire a team of feminists to write anything at all, that's just what you're gonna get. Honestly it shouldn't be surprising, hire a team of Nazis to write a script and they'll likely demonize certain people too for the exact same reason... it's just who they are as people. It's a shame, she hulk could have been awesome, instead she's just another wasted character. The lesson should be to never hire writers like that. I wonder how long it'll take them to figure it out and how many characters they'll be allowed to ruin.
I also want to add I love that this show is only 30 minutes long. Nobody has time for 45 to hour long videos anymore.. I mean I dont have time for hour long shows.
Haven't watched, let me guess thou... Strong empowered female character surrounded by toxic masculinity and dumb men who get beat up constantly because they are stupid and impulsive. The villain may also be an evil greedy man. Lead character women also may have a love interest who is a guy but he is girly or just not the hero type. If I got it wrong I'll give it a watch...
I understand this part, but then she-hulk's out and can't remember anything. Then spends some time at the Hulk resort and essentially just seems to magically figure it out. And no one from work ever worries about her or asks questions, even though the entire time she was like "I need to get to work"? That's where I felt like, they just kind of squished everything into one 30 minute episode and it seemed kind of rushed.
I think Disney execs just figure that, anyone who's queuing up an episode of She-Hulk on Disney+ in 2022, is enough of a Marvel 'veteran' and probably wouldn't care for the the science behind everything and would rather them just get to the story. Plus, the series is only like, 9 episodes, so the less "origin story," the better.
Was pleasantly surprised by episode 1. I didn’t have very high expectations for it and really enjoyed it. Didn’t really see the man hating or ultra feminist stuff you guys are referencing. Jen’s fellow lawyer was a bit of a douche but it’s a fairly reliable trope for young TV lawyers. I’d say you should watch the Captain Marvel movie if you want to see the yes, ma’am, man hating ultra feminist BS in full effect in the MCU, then juxtapose that to this show.
Yee. Lotta smol wiener syndrome up in here. The thing I AM tired of though, is how they always make the heroes/friends fight each other for no reason. Just act normal. We get the same scenario every time.
