Yeah I remember when UH suspended Akeem for his conduct. He still got drafted, but that team dropped him like a bad habit as well. Oh wait, that didn't happen, because teams give talented players a very long leash. Still somehow this f**kwit was given away and just happened to catch on with a team that doesn't really want to win games.
If kpj is the most talented player on the roster then this team needs to scrap everything and start over again. That ain't gonna work.
Unlike KPJ, Akeem always had the ability. If KPJ performed like the Akeem, you think anyone would still be having a discussion on if he is worth the risk? Like seriously… Akeem showed he was a franchise altering star from day 1. It’s not even a sure thing if KPJ can be considered a core member going forward on a REBUILDING team. That’s why he got gifted away for literally nothing. Are we seriously trying to use Akeem as an argument of tolerating or looking past poor behavior.
Ok so you haven't heard, read or whatever anything that actually states they're not going to extend him. Either now or later. Just making sure I didn't miss anything.
Houston Rockets Bleacher Report posted a nice tweet: from: [ BBall Index 08:49 a.m. on Aug 16, 2022 ] "The 2021-22 guards that drew the opposing defenses' most Impactful defenders as their matchup (minimum 1000 mins)." 1) Luka Doncic 2) Dame 3) Bradley Beal 4) Ja Morant 5) Kevin Porter jr 6) Anthony Edwards 7) Trae Young 8) Cade Cunningham 9) Kyrie Irving 10) Devin Booker _______________________ But KPj should have better stats if he was a real point guard
The most impactful defender must defend someone after all. Considering KPJ gets 30 minutes a night, and the other candidate is a 19 year old rookie who is trying to figure the game, I guess it is only natural. Any decent point guard in this team would get the opposing defenses' most impactful defender. If a team has more than one threat in the guard position, those guards will probably split the best defender. The fact that he is there doesn't say anything about how good KPJ is or how he compares to the other guards on the list.
But where is Brunson on the list? The $27.7 million dollar man or Marcus Smart the $17.2 million dollar man SGA had 24 pts and 35 mins/game........$30.9 M didnt make the list De'Aaron Fox was 23 pts and 35 mins/game....$30.4 M didn't make the list You are making excuses
fanbois getting desperate and throwing out any random stat, piece of info, or quote they can find KPJr is an elite 3 point shooter, really good defender, arguably the best 1 on 1 player in the league, and gets the other team’s most impactful defender…all that, yet he’s still mediocre at absolute best
It always comes down to excuses with that group when you disprove their narrative. They get themselves in trouble because they simply refuse to admit even the most obvious of facts if they show KPJ in a positive light. It seems to be a pathological condition.
how is curry not on the list? brunson can't be on the list because of luka, same as cp3 not being on it cause of booker, but where is steph? weird
Brunson is not on the list because he was on the same team wiht Luka, proving exactly what i wrote. Do you think KPJ would be on the list he was playing next to Luka?
You also prove my point.....Porter had no help worth being guarded. Can't have your cake and eat it too. Green, JC show they are better this season......guess what happens to Porters stats......less top defenders guarding him, thus better stats occur.
Also, we saw last season that once those other players started playing better, it unlocked everything. That's why we should be so excited about this season.
This is exactly right. It's no accident that when Green was averaging 30 points a game at seasons end that Porter averaged 29 points and 7.4 Asts. It will carry over as Jalen kicks it in gear and we display a better Sengun/Tate while adding Jabari and Tari. I have Jalen averaging 25 pts and Porter Jr with 20 pts and 7.8 Asts. Very doable as KPj has less attention on him........and a more expensive price tag comes next summer.
I think most people get it...but then there's a small group of really loud weirdos seeking attention in here.
Yeah I think most people here want the Rockets to succeed and ultimately a better Porter helps the Rockets move in that direction. There are the fanbois that want *Sengun to get all the touches or *Jalen Green get all the touches** or *They are puritans that think all these kids coming from troubled pasts are good rats that are incapable of change. **I saw this when both Green and Porter scored 30 each in the same game last year. KPj was blasted after the game here on CF's. I'm a fan of Jalen Green; but I don't mind dueling banjos kicking it.
I don’t understand what that list is supposed to mean. Theres not a single guy in the top ten there with KPJ that id put KPJ over. Most of those guys are ball dominant players and KPJ was the main ball handler himself. You say the list shows that KPJ had no help worth being guarded… But some of the top players on that list had good or really good supporting players with them. Luka had Brunson, Booker had CP3, kyrie had Harden and Durant for a good portion of the year, Dame had CJ, JA had a really nice supporting cast as well. I think team style of play largely dictates what defenses do. I’m not sure how much you can take from that list. There’s guys that are missing in the top ten that were clear and away the biggest offensive threat in every way possible on their team. If you say the list means KPJ didn’t have any other help worth guarding there’s guys on there that disprove that. KPJ isn’t better than anyone he’s in the top ten on there with.
