Not unreasonable, he has done so already this year. This is why I do not want to even entertain a long term extension for Valdez until next year. I feel like, of all SP, he's the single-biggest beneficiary of the shift.
For all the (deserved) **** given to the bullpen and the shift, how about the offense scores more than 1 run in 9 innings?
If the Dodgers are playing an NL East team in the NLCS I'll be rooting for the Dodgers. If the Astros make another Word Series I want no part of the NL East.
Worst over time rule in the world. Not revisionist but if Stanek is available for the the 10th, use him there. And I didn't even want 1st place in the AL and feel done wrong by mishandling the bullpen. Other than that, highly entertaining game.
Should of never pitched Montero and Neris in close games, or be closer, respectively. Both are flaming out especially Neris, those were rockets that came out of the Braves bat, Stanek should of pitched 8th, or Pressley 9th. How often does Stanek pitch extra-innings with a runner on 2nd base?!?!?!? Losing leads in 3 out of 4 games is on the manager. He is still busy chomping on his toothpick.
They didn't get Stanek. The pitcher who pitched the 11th threw almost all pitches under 90 mph... ONE pitch over 95. Either Dusty sent him out there knowing he was not right tonight or they had a really dumb plan of attack through their lineup. He was struggling with controlling his breaking ball so what does Vazquez do? More breaking ball... Everything in the same spot. Basically they just told the Braves where the pitch was going and slowed it down enough for contact...
