I think the Yankees are Old and have way too many Journeymen on their Team including Pitchers. Too many Players outside of the Organization usually means there is not much Chemistry and Friendships. The Astros are built on Minor Leagues and Chemistry and the Players have known each other since Teenagers. Example Christian Javier, Jose Urquidy, Framber Valdez known each other since Dominican Academy or Minors

Yankees are 24-32 in their last 56 games (oh so close to being 23-33). That's now more than a third of the season. Cole is 9-6 with a 3.41 era. $40 million doesn't get you a whole lot these days. Toronto now only 6 games back in the loss column. We are almost at the point where the Yankees would be more concerned with winning the division vs getting the 1 seed.
I remember back in 1990 I think it was, the Dodgers had a 13 game lead going into september, lost 13 in a row, and missed the playoffs by 1 game.
