And you had to come to his rescue.

If you think his (-0.8) dWAR does not reflect his value then what objective Stat does? Or do we need to invent another? That's all we're trying to do with stats is to find an OBJECTIVE evaluation rather than an arbitrary subjective one. I've heard, but not found, stats on picks which should be part of a total defensive evaluation. There are a ton of stats I am not familiar with, but I'm glad somebody is.

Jeter should NEVER have won a Gold Glove. But a Silver Slugger was deserved.

Dude. Just stop. There is a defensive spectrum from most important/hardest to play to least important/easy to play. Every commentator, observer and person in the game, plus all the stat nerds, have, since the beginning of time considered first base to be the easiest defensive position to play. Not acknowledging that is clown behavior.

Also who gives a **** about anyones production in 1 game that ended 21-5. Those are the numbers for the season. That’s the total picture. It’s absurd. He’s not a good or even average MLB bat anymore. The fact that he’s being played in the premiere offensive position (1B) on the field and hitting in the spot reserved for the best hitter in the game is full on lunacy.

And he will occasionally get a hit and bring out the "see, I told you so crowd."

On the bench due to managerial decisions.

Check his recent splits. Yuli is more than serviceable again.

His .634 OPS in August or his gaudy .671 OPS since the break?

I don't mind Yuli playing over Diaz or RHP Chaz, Yuli when playing over Mancini is infuriating

Oh no doubt. But when Dusty is prioritizing Meyers and Dubon over Mancini is far more infuriating. Mancini is a serviceable outfielder.... I don't need a gold glove LFer especially with a strikeout heavy rotation and bullpen.

I don't like the odds of playing a bad player at a premium spot in the line-up to fix him. But apparently Musty does. Maybe he can play Yordan in the second spot... Bregman third and Tucker fourth.

Did anyone else see this quote from LaRussa?

"I hate that rule you can pitch a position player," White Sox manager Tony La Russa said. "There's got to be a way to avoid that at some point when you get far down. I think it's a travesty for the game. I don't think fans enjoy it.

Hey Tony - you didn’t have to pitch a position player.

Let me correct him: the fans of the team using the position player to pitch do not enjoy it.

The fans of the other team enjoy it quite a bit.

Yuli is 3rd to last in baseball for DRS and 4th to last in UZR.

    Take your Homer glasses off.

Since June 1 he's hitting .268/.322/.400. Nothing to get excited about, but serviceable. But having 0 HR from your 1B since July 1 is very depressing.
