No ****, that's why he got traded (and everyone wanted him to be traded) for a veteran reclaim project with '22 potential. Will it work for the Stros? Who the **** knows? Bait/Smith can always be cut later, but what exactly did yall want or expect? And what is the downside?
Just got in, opened up mlb. Looks like it's going to take two or three days for me to catch up and watch this game.
Not as a starter. But a bullpen/long reliever perhaps. But I suspect 3 additional starters in the bullpen was just too much to outweigh the cost of retaining him. It will be hard enough to put two starters in the BP for the playoffs. The 5 possible games in 5 days the ALCS could require a 5th Starter. Most teams would bring back their ACE on short rest, even though that means only 2 starts in the WS. I feel like we could handle a 5th game better than most. Here's NYY comp. Verlander 1.95 vs Cortez 2.74 Valdez 2.72 vs Cole 3.30 McCullers 0.00 (3.16 in 21) vs Taillon 3.95 Javier 2.96 vs German 4.45 Urquidy 3.69 vs Montas 9.00 Since this is WS Championship or bust, I think we would optimize our line-up for the WS. Now winning 11 straight is optimal, but this is baseball.
I would like nothing better than to see Gurriel to get fixed for the playoffs by hitting him 2 in the line-up. It's LONG overdue though. Gurriel slash lines BA/OBP/SLG/OPS last 7 360/407/400/807 last 15 260/296/300/596 last 30 276/314/357/671 since ASG 276/314/357/671 YTD 248/295/383/678
When I saw the score in my newsfeed I thought it was a mistake so watched The highlights just to verify
Even though I know this is just superstition I can’t but help but wish we could’ve saved some of those runs for future games.
I'm really glad we don't play the White Sox again this season. I suppose it is possible we play them in the playoffs, but I would hope TLR wouldn't have his guys throwing at our players if a playoff game was on the line. And by next year hopefully all will be forgotten (and if we are lucky, LaRussa fired).
Least important? Yuli saves many errors by the shortstop. Since he had 3 hits and 2 RBIs today, had to find something else to b**** about him.
Odi is not a reliver. He sucked last year in the playoffs. He was not going to be on the playoff roster.
I know. Just being superstituous. Especially when we see the Stros lose so many games by 1 or 2 runs.
