If our hitters had any respect and pride for Verlander they’d get their sh!! together and score some runs.

 

Tough way to end a solid outing, but with a man on third there and coming up on 100 pitches, JV did damn well to keep the game tied. You want the win obviously and there are no moral victories, but regardless of the outcome, Verlander definitely outdueled Cease tonight.

 

Verlander gave up 8 hits in this game, 3rd most this season, he has lost games given up 8+ hits. So wake up Toothpick!!!

This is pretty much what you will see our offense do in the postseason when we need runs in a tight game late. Nada.

 

Peña has not been good. Looking more and more like a rookie the further the season progresses.

 

This is why I hate Dusty Baker the lineup clown. Just play your best players. Bat them in sensible places in the order. Rest each occasionally. Instead we play score as few runs as possible and hope the pitching holds.

 

This feels like a loss.
