What was Green's +/- last year?

See you can use Stats anyway you like to tear down or prop up your favorite player.

KPJ is a good player with a unique skillset - and he is 22 coming into his 4th year, primed to break out.

    Enjoy the ride.

I agree, KPJ did take a lot of bad bail out shots when the offense stagnated and everyone was struggling. Hopefully he can stick to his strengths and take more in balance jumpers, instead of forcing acrobatic layups and off balance mid range.

I think with Green now being a serious weapon, Sengun starting, and Smith helping spread the floor, we'll see much better, more efficient offense.

a rookie being on that list is a little more excusable then supposed 2 way player kpj in his 3rd year being on it.......

EGO is on it too, BTW - that is going to be skewed a bit because our team sucked, so all of our guys will jump up when we play with Jabari this year, but their order probably won't change or will remain consistent.

EG doesn't move enough on defense. He puts in about as many steps on defense as the elite offensive playmakers do...who are trying to conserve energy on the defensive end because they're elite offensive players. And EG is not an elite offensive player.

I like EG just fine...but it's not a surprise to me he's on that list.

Having 3 guys on that list is an issue...and pretty telling for what we see in the results.

Our 3 best guards....lol.....which were not helped by Wood because he didn't protect the rim.

I expect Jabari to help all 3 of their standings simply by playing D...

The Rockets guards didn't help Sengun either. When Sengun went for a block, no one picked up his man or came in to help protect the glass.

KPJ on average was a better defender throughout the year than Green. Though, Green sucked really bad early in the season and really skews most objective attempts on rating his defense.

he shot 64% from the line. Shooting is not one of his strengths. He does better in some particular situations but when his ft% is that bad, it is meaningless to try to explain it by external factors. Sure it will improve by fixing external factors but he is not a very good shooter.

similarly with his assist numbers. He gets 6 assists in a fast paced, bottom team with little ball movement. His playmaking, court vision is average.

You were right when you said he is the best we have for the pg position. And I think that is a big mistake that hurts both the rockets and kpj.

KPJ was the best PG and probably still is the best PG. Though, it would not surprise me if lineups with Nix (or TyTy) at PG and Porter playing SF end up being better than lineups with Porter at PG. This isn't to say that Nix (or TyTy) would be better players than KPJ, but that it would allow KPJ to get back to finishing at a high clip, get more C&S opportunities, and improve the Rockets playmaking at the 3.

There are guys ranging from 5 years in to 10 years on that list, its not like KPJ has played that much or that him and Green are about the same defensively according to the list.

It is interesting that KPJ is on the list but that does not excuse how bad Green is.

KPJ's finishing at the rim early in the season was poor, he shies away from contact instead of exploding through it.

He need to take on the contact, finish or go to the foul line - his efficiency will sky rocket if he does.

Also adding a floater will help a ton.

So your hot take is that shooting isn't one of the strengths of a player that was the best catch and shoot 3 point shooter in the NBA last year?

The other guys with high percentage catch and shoot 3 pt% are taking about double the number of shots kpj is taking. And their ft% is typically between 85% to 90%. So yes, being the best on a relatively small number of attempts in catch and shoot 3s for one season while shooting 64% at the line does not prove you are good shooter. It rather makes me think it is something not sustainable.

Lol, doubling down on that hilarious nonsense? Beautiful.

Saying a player who shot 37+% on nearly 7 3's a game isn't a good shooter is absolutely insane.

You're trying too hard to push a narrative there's no support for.
