Solid episode that checks off some checkboxes and answers some questions, but the amount of carnage in this one isn't as shocking or impactful as the other eps before.

With the way things are going, it's a good table setter for the finale. We still don't know if it'll be picked up for another season.

Given that in S3, the AIs had already calculated/predicted humanity's dOoOm, it seems like we pulled down those bots with us rather hoping they and their tech would save us.

A bit interesting observation that without a reset, we brush off near death disasters like it's nothing and keep playing the music like it's nothing. Even a Reset with that riot at the end of S3 didn't matter in the long run.

There's been hits and misses, but the show's been really good at making me think.

Show has been great this season.

Last episode made me think, is there a connection between Bernard and Christina? What if episode 7 was nothing but simulation from Bernard? Curious to how it will turn out in the finale.

I enjoyed season 4. I would not mind for the show runners to get a chance to finish the story with a season 5 (supposedly the last planned season). We'll see if it happens after the mess of cancelled shows over at HBO Max Discovery.

God I hope we don't have to see Aaron Paul and Tessa Thompson again next season.

So so ending. I wish they'd drop the Man in Black from ruining everything to end a season.

Seems like the writers way to knock down their house of cards without living up to their buildup.

why didn't Charlotte transcend? Seems dumb to show personal growth then throw it away

Story seems finished to me. The ratings were horrible. The season was great. I bet they just end it. Ed Harris can say whatever.

Really enjoyed this season from start to finish. I'd personally like them to get one last season but if it ends here the ambiguous ending isn't the worst way to go.....

A big meh from me. The story was a bit convoluted but worse than that, it was frequently boring.

I couldn't get past the Hoover Dam scenes, as if in the future there will be enough water behind that dam to dependably power turbines. Hoover Dam is not resilient enough to depend on for years and years. Would have been smarter to house all that stuff in an underground facility powered by solar and maintained by the blank faced robot things. Not to mention how difficult it would be to retrofit a New Deal era design and expand it backwards into Lake Mead so all the servers(?) fit.

Plus, those first episode gangsters aren't going to be hanging out at the Dam. There's nothing there. They'd be in Vegas snorting lines and banging showgirls. Also, how do you drive from a city, get ambushed in an area that obviously gets a good amount of rain, and then ride a horse to Hoover Dam, which is in the middle of a desert--all in the span of what appears to be one day? And... the whole tone thing was stupid.

Also, not nearly enough nudity for a big HBO series.

I was def a little disappointed by the finale.

The end result heading into next season doesn't excite me at all. Humanity extinct, everything is just a simulation? Just not an intriguing story IMO. Makes everything pointless.

Also, William showing up on a horse at the same time as Halores's freaking plane made me laugh out loud

There were elements of this season that were compelling, but as you say, some of it was too convoluted.

Also, what was with the superimposed rift on the dam, that was related to the Sublime? Was that supposed to exist in physical reality? It seemed like that was the intent.

Also, not an Aaron Paul fan. He just annoys me for reason.

Overall worth watching, but the first couple of seasons were really thought provoking, so I always have high expectations for the series.

Sounds like the writers want to go back to original Westworld for the final season. Which I don’t mind after two seasons in the future. I bet S5 if it exists is going to Williams redemption arc. He will do something good which saves humanity as a species

Yeah, **** that character. Storyline is played out and filled with boring dead ends.

It's great eye candy, but that's all it is for me at this point. I enjoy a good convoluted, meandering a story if I care about the story they are telling, but I really don't at this point, so after the first couple of episodes this season I was deep in the "sunk cost fallacy" watching each episode, because I'd put in the time already, with my attention starting to wander about 30 minutes in.

I hope I'll be able to resist season 5 if it happens, but Ill probably sit through every episode, though, and wonder why I'm doing it.

Basically only watching for the visuals at this point.

My hunch is that nudity went down for this show because they were claiming the initial nudity was to reinforce themes of exploitation...

I haven't seen much gratuitous nudity in many big streaming shows since metoo started... Nowadays, there's higher likelihood of seeing a trans or gay character than an exposed nipple.

The exception is The Boys, but they went equal opportunity for men and women.

The litmus test will be the new Game of Thrones prequel. If that show airs without the wall-to-wall boobs of the original, then all is lost.

I have yet to see the last 4 or 5 episodes of this season. I missed one week, and then for some reason, just never went back to it. The way people are talking, it ended on a wet fart?

will probably binge the episodes I missed some time in the future

Finally finished the season last night

-Looks like the final season will be Dolores/Christina vs. William(?).
-William wants to just let people just kill each other and make sure all the "cockroaches" stay alive which is dumb.
-All of the characters that could see Christina were simulations; hmmm.
-Teddy didn't die this time this season; yay!
-Poor Stubbs; he deserved a better death.
-Going back to where it all started with Dolores and her building Westworld with nothing but her memory is something else. She can also bring back any character she has come in contact with.
-HBO has somehow not picked Westworld up for a 5th and last season. Will they? I really hope so.
    -What happens to the Outliers?

    Finale was bad.

I don't see this series lasting past next season.
