Lots? It’s really only one that defends him unconditionally. The only saving grace is that it does seem that Dusty has very little say on lineup and pitching decisions in the playoffs (based on the last 3 years).
Now he brings in MATON who throws junk and wowza, up and down they go. Dusty - this is 100% on you. DD
Well at least Maton was able to utilize his wicked breaking stuff against a team that can’t hit wicked breaking stuff. Still think Maton needs a better role to get better results. Maybe Montero’s arm falling off will open the door. Maton is this team’s Robert Horry, whether you like it or not… lol.
Maton is certainly not the answer. Lord help us all of he's thrust into much higher leverage situations more often.
Just don’t understand as a manager why you wouldn’t give Urquidy the option of staying in there. He was nails all game. So damn frustrating.
Larry Dierker used to leave his starters in - and when asked he said "They are the best pitchers, why not let my best guys try to get out of a jam?" DD
I honestly think Dusty is so unconcerned w the rest of the regular season he’s putting guys in tough situations just to see if they can turn it around. Dubon leading off, Montero after he struggled yesterday, Meyers, Yuli It’s frankly the only reasonable explanation and one that I’d honestly be ok with. The core of this team has very little to prove.
