I live in a relatively new and still home building construction medium upscale neighborhood here in TN with home prices $600-$800K …lots of California plate cars in the new home construction section…mmm? Why they moving out.

For states that enjoy market dominance, they are losing peeps

    Probably job relocation?

Do you base all systemic claims and human society patterns and trends based on small silvers of anecdotes you personally witnessed? Has your brain not fully developed into adult phase where you learn that trends and patterns often occur without immediate anecdotal observation? Does that mean there is someone in Cali seeing a bunch of out of state license plates with the exact opposite view as you saying "why are so many people moving here?".

Well sir, the total population increase of NYC in the last 12 years is only 70000 less than Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and Fort Worth combined. (So yeah everyone is fleeeeing California and NYC for Texas lol)

Some people these days look at EVERYTHING through a political lens. Feeding into their presumptions but really do not know sh*t.

Lots of people move to major cities in their early 20s because that’s where the action is. But once they settle down they move back to the suburbs and small towns from whence they came.

Geez 600-800k for a house in Tennessee? I know Nashville is really popular but that seems outrageous for a new build in the suburbs.

It’s a very nice area and I’m blessed to afford a beautiful home but of course if I did drugs and made bad choices this would not have happened… I started a business and went from an apartment to a very small house to eventually where I’m at now. American dream happens when people make the right choices. This can happen to anyone that applies themselves… I’m not special in fact my brain has not fully developed. If it did I would be omniscient and a famous autodidact but instead I built a business where my take home is near $20k per month with absolutely nothing but avoiding bad choices, hardwork, finetuning my craft and enjoying what I do.
    Amazing how that works out

Average is $5000. Median is still $4000. I paid for my nieces apartment in the upper east side for her law school it was closer to $2500 for 600 sq ft and she had a roommate. Average wages in Manhattan are a lot higher than in Pearland.

They’re struggling because all the good ones are taken even at high rents. $60k in housing costs is reasonable if you’re a pulling in $200k+ as a household which a lot of DINKs in Manhattan are.
