It’s not about 1 game. It’s time to get ready for the playoffs. I do think Yuli’s defense is still good, but his bat is not. We need to get everybody that is going to start in the postseason ready and comfortable both at the plate and in the field. Yuli is a waste of time in my opinion. He is a singles hitter now and Dusty keeps putting him in a premium spot in the lineup. Mancini needs to be playing everyday except for rest days once a week or so. When Yuli plays he should be batting 8th or 9th and that should only be enough to keep him somewhat ready for a pinch hit, defensive replacement role. It’s not b****ing, it’s just regular baseball debate which is what we do here. You calling anybody insufferable is pretty laughable with all the “debating” you do about summer league play and who was the better rookie, etc.
Defensive runs saved is the stat used for WAR calculations. http://www.fieldingbible.com/DRSLeaderboard You can sort by position Here's the fangraphs chart already sorted https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.a...tdate=2022-01-01&enddate=2022-12-31&sort=13,d Yuli was ranked very highly prior to this season FWIW I don't think Yuli is a bad fielder, he's still very much a positive, just not nearly positive enough for an offense first position.
I don't debate this and would have no issue if Mancini starts getting the majority of the time, but to now claim Yuli's defense is somehow suspect? When is the last time I have "debated" about summer league? I don't even have a lot of posts in the summer league thread. When have I ever said who is the better rookie? You are just making **** up I have never said one rookie is better than another. Nobody is debating here they are b****ing about Yuli after a 2 hit game and an 8-0 blowout, yes it is insufferable. Have you ever seen me b****ing about a player on my team after a win and saying he needs to be replaced?
Thanks, I will take a deep dive when I have more time. Maybe he has fallen off and I have not noticed, I don't mind being proven wrong I just need some facts.
