He absolutely should have played the short field after the turnover. That is a scenario he may not get to practice and he only had 6 snaps prior. I guess he only had 6 snaps scripted.
If those were scripted, I have a problem with the “gameplan”. Runs and screens. Hopefully that’s not Pep’s offense
Yeah I'm hoping they kept it vanilla on purpose. But Mills definitely needs more work in the pre-season. He is a young qb learning a new offense.
It’s preseason, Mills needed to work on his intermediate and long game NOT just the short dump offs …Hopefully that changes in next preseason games to at least get a few passes out… But yeah it could be they are purposely keeping it vanilla but I don’t agree with that strategy if that’s the case on all the preseason games
I wasn't happy with what I saw from Mills, but the play calling was trash. He wasn't in a position to do anything the short time he was on the field. I hope to see more next week.
Too vanilla to properly evaluate the first game. Mills didnt look great. OLine looked BAD. Defense was OK. Rookie RB was amazing. Hope the coaches take the training wheels off next game - shorter preseason and week 1 vs division rival is a bad combo for taking it easy right now.
Relax. This is another tank year. If we were trying to be relevant this year we would be spending cap room and trading for vets. You will know when caserio wants to compete when he goes after some real difference makers especially at wr and dl.
This has nothing to do with his on field performance. But, when talking to the press does Mills seem to have that deer in the headlights look. He needs to loosen up a little bit.
