I’ve only seen the first 3 episodes. Sorry, I generally think she was pretty bad. It’s Disney though I expect it.
Episodes 1-4 could have been chopped down to 1 episode to introduce everything. Episodes 5 and 6 were like a whole other series. The actual acting was even different and better in the last 2.
The poo-rinses chase scenes could've been replaced with her time with the rebels. Maybe she convinces the milquetoast rebel to go back to that base with her creepy almost-mind**** insights. There she learns what responsibility is outside her kingdom. Kinda like...oh she was pampered and spunky but seeing people getting stomped on by the empires boot convinces her of the bigger picture (as an 8'yr old...) and sets her on the rebel path. A bit of a parallel with bratty anakin from ep. 1. But nah, a holster from a man she wont remember seeing again 15-20 yr later is the reason why she became a rebel leader ::shrugs::
Yeah, it would have been a lot better as a movie (supposedly this series was based on the first movie in a pitched trilogy).
dizni and marvel series (same?) really love their long filler episodes. the last ep was dope but only the vader scene, but the excitement has already deflated by the first 4 episodes. i could use seeing obi get burned again tho. weird he practically went unscathed tho. must be the cold force keeping him cool
There's a 2 hour 30 minute movie edit by Kai Patterson (you can find it on hiswebsite.com/kenobi) and it works so much better that way. Flowed much smoother. Still with it's flaws, but its the way it should have been done with a much larger budget and better director and dp and John Williams doing the music. What could have been. I'll likely keep the edit as my canon now.
i got one episode left, but im really disappointed in the writing. its later-seasons-game of thrones lazy and unbelievable. vader didnt kill 3rd sister, but just left her there and walked away! he held that transport ship with the force, but there was a ship inside the ship which broke off and got away...and he couldnt stop that one! he just let obi wan walk away when he had him roasting. and this whole series messes up star wars (a new hope) where leia sends a message to obi wan "years ago you helped my father in the clone wars". as if she would not have remembered him helping her when she was 10.
I wouldn't really have an issue with that, if the rest of the series was great and added a lot to the franchise and to the characters. It sadly didn't do that, mainly due to the bad writing and some unnecessary plot points like Reva.
Fun mini series but basically of the 6 episodes it's better as a 2 parter probably. I think they did force too much canon...confusing material. The Leia thing is a bit much if for no other reason than it doesn't make sense that Vader knows that Obi-Wan can be lured out to save Leia and he never tries it again himself. It's too unbelievable. But regardless, it was enjoyable.
