Justice needed some retweets today. Hey Rangers, there's this thing called pitchcom. Use that and the catcher can set up wherever to fool the runner on 2nd.
He struck out in 26 of 60 PA at one point, after a perfectly respectable start to his season this year in the K department. He's been a high K player from the start, but the stark nature in which he started striking out so much this season is what's weird. From putting the ball in play pretty well and then overnight striking out at a stupid clip. He's gotten the K's under control to start August so maybe it was just an ugly stretch.
All of this. Maybe we're just simpletons but it can't be this hard, can it? Play your best players the majority of the time. Dubon doesn't need consistent reps. Yuli has played his way out of automatic 1B duties, especially now that you TRADED for a viable replacement. Pena probably should be resting and - guess what - you have a better player, at least right now, in Diaz who can help spell him.
Yeah. Dusty sucks. Without him, we would be on pace to win over 100 games, win our division by 10 games, and have the best record in the AL. Wait a moment.
I know we have had confirmation of Dusty picking the lineup already, but Chas will be on bench for 2 lefties and was in the lineup against the RHP. I know it isn't that big a deal. Astros will still win around 100 games, get a bye, and then have to win postseason games. It is just really frustrating that Dusty isn't taking every advantage he has even if it is in the margins.
mancini starts great, yet Chas is out with a LHP starting (granted he did strike out twice yesterday against lefties) and he sits Álvarez who hit a HR while Yuli continues to start. dusty apologists—how do you defend this?
Dusty probably schedules off days way in advance which impacts the lineup. Chaz was probably set to start way before the opposing pitcher was known.
I'd kill to get AJ back here and Luhnow for that matter. This team is still very good despite Dusty's bs but could be insanely fantastic.
This team could win it all because talent and who's hot wins the day in baseball. But knowing Dusty is almost never playing the optimal lineup is frustrating beyond belief. I can only pray he actually takes s**t seriously in October and starts actually playing his best team. The McCormick situation is one of the most infuriating pieces of nonsense I've ever seen.
