This is the funniest thing posted in this entire thread. Kudos. Unintentionally, but still.

This team has all the pieces to contend but chooses to let the pieces rot on the bench

Maton should never be asked to start an inning with a man on second base.

He would take a walk over a strikeout.

    Maton is a 6-7-maybe 8th inning guy.

Is there a reliever on the team you feel less confident in than Phil Maton? Easy to say now, and I know statistically that going into today he wasn’t awful, but man he sure feels awful every time he goes out there. Idk if I just happen to watch all of his worst outings and skim through the others, but this one sucked a fat, greasy cack.

He has been picking the line ups so in essence yes.

Good point. Its almost like you have to force Dusty's hand with a starting lineup instead of giving him the option to pick and choose.

Essentially, the bullpen started well, but eventually collapsed. I absolutely hate the extra innings starting with a runner on second. What idiot in the league offices came up with that stupid idea?

Maton should be the guy that goes to AAA when McCullers comes up but I bet it will be Seth Martinez.

Yeah, don’t understand what Mancini needs to do to play.

Of course, he’ll play tomorrow but Tucker, Altuve, and Yuli will sit and we’ll have a OF of Dubon, Jake, and Chaz.

WHY IS DUBON ON THIS DAMN TEAM?!?!? DOES ANYONE ON THE ASTROS REALIZE THAT MANCINI CAN PLAY LF?!? FACK!!!

It was only supposed to be a covid season thing but the players wanted to keep it so it's not going anywhere.

It's gonna be quite ridiculous when that happens.

Maton 's ceiling is so low. We've gotten lucky with him this season (finally blew up tonight).

They won't want to burn Maton's final option. They will send Martinez down until Sept 1st.

I like Dusty, the man, he's ****ing awesome, he's a legend. He's done a hell of a job in the recent postseasons juggling the pitching staff.

Regular Season Dusty is ****ing infuriating.

Meyers, Dubon, and McCormick have no business playing on a playoff team. Just sucks that Brantley is hurt. Mancini, Tucker, and Brantley with Diaz off the bench is a contender.

I don’t care how good Meyers and Dubon are in CF. Doesn’t make up for their sub .600 OPS.
