Same is going to be said for Blue Jays, Rays and Guardians. The only team that doesn't seem to scare anybody is the Twins... yet they have the one player with more post-season success than any of these other teams (especially if Springer done for the year). The Astros just need to continue to stay healthy and get the guys coming off the IL back into good form. There is no team out there with more big game experience... both on the hitters side and the pitching side. There is no team out there that wants to play the Astros in any round. Probably the first Houston sports team in history that has zero claim to a victims mentality... they're that good and that feared.
The Mariners have a been a legit threat for a while now...when they aren't playing the Astros. If you want to avoid playing the Mariners in the ALDS then keep rooting for Dusty to post crappy lineups so the Astros end up back in the 2 seed.
I’m not defending Dusty and these lineups but I HOPE that with the division lead we have Dusty is simply pulling a process of elimination with the guys struggling and giving them every opportunity to break out so he knows exactly what he has (He should already know what we have in Mancini) and who will play where and when it comes to the post season. There really is no other explanation aside from stubbornness.
The Orioles are the scariest of the wild card hopefuls. They are young, hungry, and believing in themselves. A lot like the 2015 Astros.
This seems obvious but the offense really is 10× better when Yordan is mashing. Been in a slump for awhile now. Should be automatic to get on base.
