There is only one dude left here who still defends Dusty and he’s a Dusty only fan, he couldn’t care less about the Astros. There are a couple of posters who think they are really smart, and they have purposely stayed off the anti-Gurriel train. They are crouching tigers. As soon as Yuli puts together a couple of multi hit games in a row, they are coming out of the woodwork to tell us all how stupid we are. They can’t wait for this moment. What these hindsight asshats don’t understand is that WE ALL WANT YULI TO HIT. Nonetheless, brace yourself for some serious backlash from the old muppets in the balcony if Yuli gets even remotely hot. Mancini should be starting at 1b every single game.
Mancini's 8th game with the team and he's started 50% of the games. It's seriously like Dusty intentionally chooses the worst platoon matchups possible. Diaz hits RHP better, sits. Dubon and Chaz who hit LHP well but struggle against RHP get the start, after sitting against the LHP.
Either Dusty thinks that through the struggle, these players will hit their weaknesses better, or he's conspiring with the front office to sand-bag the numbers of everyone to pay them less in arbitration/free agency.
Castillo-Gilbert-Ray shouldn't beat Verlander-Valdez-Urquidy/McCullers/Javier, but anything is possible in a 5 game series if the bats don't show up. Not an enviable series. We'd still pull through, considering what we did to Rodon-Giolito-Cease last year.
