Legendary martial artists Gene LeBell has passed away at 89. He was a great wrestler and very influential in mixed martial arts. He was also a legendary Hollywood stuntman and the scene with Brad Pitt and Bruce Lee in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was loosely based on a fight between Gene LeBell and Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee though was very good friends with Gene LeBell. In Gene LeBells later years he was a mentor to Rhonda Rousy. https://www.yardbarker.com/mma/arti...passes_away_at_89_years_old/s1_16995_37760156
I didn't know who he was but have a better understanding based on this article further elaborating on what the OP said: Bruce Lee Scene in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood Was Inspired By Gene LeBell Grappling Lee (bjjee.com) RIP
This dude is a legend and MMA bad-ass. Especially great is the legend of him making Steven Seagal poop his pants and pass out. Many say it's a true story, but I wasn't there. R.I.P.
That’s a pretty famous story in martial arts circles but from people when on were there it isn’t true. Gene LeBell had a confrontation with Seagal and got the better of him but he didn’t poop his pants. I’m on my phone but here is an interview with someone who witnessed it. https://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news/gene-lebell-talks-steven-seagal-s-ing-himself
