I agree with this, however to me it's a small mark in a middle range, NOT RED color.

We don't know specifics but the choices to improve CF were largely underwhelming and ( by accounts) expensive.

For whatever reason, Dusty doesn't trust Chas completely. First it was Straw, then Siri, and then Jake. I don't know what it is. I was a big Jake fan last season, but he hasn't shown any of the power he before the injury. His slugging is getting close to Straw territory.

Chas is likely better than any CF that they could acquire easily. As long as either Meyers plays well, or insert Chas in CF by postseason, there shouldn't be a mark against the FO. I agree that FO is acting like they expect Meyers to be better by postseason.

Mancini and Diaz give them bat first options in LF if Brantley doesn't make it back. Dubon gives them a good defensive option.

Really, the only thing that concerns me besides fickleness of baseball is what will Dusty do.

Has anyone else gone to a minor league team site and found themselves locked out.

I think failing to acquire another OF bat (not necessarily a CF or even a good fielder at all) could be a mark against them if things are as they appear and it's 50/50 at best for Brantley to be back and productive by the post-season. That leaves you with praying Meyers can turn things around so you can stick Chas in LF or be stuck with starting Diaz there in the post-season. Maybe that was too expensive though knowing at the least you should have a half decent bat in Diaz available for the spot.

You might want to recalibrate those odds man. I'd put it at 10/90 on Brantley being back and productive.

Breggy gets a lot of shade for not being an MVP candidate anymore but he’s still been pretty good all around. Will be interesting to see how his free agency plays out in a couple years.

Was the Astros punishment for that whole cheating mess, Dusty Baker? At this point I would take that Chuck E Cheese reject Junction Jack as a manager over Dusty...

791 is pretty decent this year and 708 is slightly above average. Bregman has been better than you think because of the never ending walks. But frustrating year on balance.
