Where the bleep is the cheapest place to get airline tickets?

    I've always found the best deals on Southwest.com and AmericaWest.com.

    I think AmericaWest has one of the best deal finding features with a grid of available fairs, with comparisons to other times/days.

    Lil Pun is right, Southwest's specials are ONLY listed on their website, no where else.

    The trick to cheap airfare is to buy at least 14 days in advance. If you were to do so, the cheapest published airfare I could find was $202 RT from bestfares.com (even cheaper - $192 RT if you were a member of bestfares.com)

    If you were to purchase 21 days in advance, bestfares.com has a $188 RT ticket (for members only).

    Membership at bestfares.com costs $59.90

    Otherwise, the best I found was....

    depart: Wash DC (Baltimore BWI)
    on Wed., July 14th

    arrive: Portland, OR (PDX)
    on Sat., July 17th

    Best fare: $360 (web fare only): American Airlines.

    I need help with hotels.....I tried hotels.com but everything is booked. Can you guys recommend anything better than hotels.com?

    Travelocity is fairly cheap, it is cheapest at the beginning of the week. I keep a few destinations on their fare watcher and get an email when they drop below a certain price. This morning Houston to New York was around $150 but I think it went up again.

    I travel a lot and if I were paying for flights, which I normally do, fly Southwest...

    If the company is paying for it, I'll be flying Continental...
