I remember moving here to Tennessee and I saw this campsite…
at first glance the website looks like a normal campground in maybe a scenic area….complete BS! ...the reality is it’s nestled right across from a freaking subdivision and not far from streets and there is nothing picturesque at all. It’s basically a plot of area with some trees filled with campers that essentially squat and renew the “seasonal pass” constantly…the point is this is a workaround for having a home. These people chose the homeless life https://nashvillei24kampground.com/ (the picture shown near the bottom has absolutely zero to do with the terrain, there is no water or scenery like that, complete fakery)https://www.google.com/maps/place/1...691ef22!8m2!3d35.966563!4d-86.530749?hl=en-us

sure they have to have some kind of income to pay the monthly charges but it’s about money and lifestyle…how this relates to the thread is people have to want to make the changes first and foremost. Some do, many don’t

Deflection. Are you saying we should copy everything Finland does? Let’s start with universal healthcare.

You conclude deflecting based on what? Maybe I’m inferring I’m ok with your homeless topic and expounding with what Finland does right on immigration. Also perhaps I agree with universal healthcare. It’s ok not to know just ask bruh…knowing is half the battle

    I get it
Internet Tmac fans only know Portland for the Nike outlet store
They got lots of homeless and drugged people out there
That’s why they are building these huts for them
    But they don’t want it
    They just want drugs

    Homeless only fans
Want the homeless to stay homeless forever

they are clueless that these people are drug addicts and mentally ill

this is why the Tmac fans didn’t understand why Tmac sucked after he had knee surgery after being told not too

Tmac fans are stupid, they want people to cross the border illegally with ease but pretend this doesn’t make it easier to transport drugs which is a huge contributor to why homelessness is a issue to begin with … let’s make access to firearms more difficult, fine ,..do the same with the border

Making shelters, tiny homes and sticking them in motels

    has
    Not
    Worked

    ever

you realize they’ve tried this since what ? Forever
    And it’s never worked

nobody wants to arrest, institutionalize or deport these people
    Or worse now
    Stop the drug trade

In Minnesota we have a few of these programs. I’ve helped in some. So far it looks like there are mixed results. It does look like there are people who are using the tiny houses and there is more demand for them. There are still homeless encampments in the Twin cities.

MN is unique that most of our homeless re native Americans. To the credit of the local Native American community they’ve been building new housing and providing resources to native homeless. It looks like providing shelter with counseling on things like drug treatment and employment can work for a fair amount of homeless.

There is also a group that appears to not be interested in drug treatment and / or have mental issues that make it hard to address that. I don’t now how much that group makes up the homeless population. For them there really isn’t an easy answer. The city has been taking down homeless encampments but they can’t arrest them unless they are clearly breaking laws and being homeless isn’t a crime. For that matter there isn’t enough city resources to arrest and detain them indefinitely even if legally they could.
