If my memory serves me correctly, Lance has never posted outstanding numbers in his rehab appearances in past years either. He'll eventually find it and like Nook says, it'll take some time, but with a little less than 2 months left; it's a good time to slowly bring him back along as part of the rotation and see what he has.

Lance doesn't want any more rehab starts.

I heard DeGrom didn't have great rehab stats but that didn't correlate to when he started pitching for the Mets.

I would bring him back as soon as his velocity is closer to his normal. If it’s not ever going to be there, he will have to make an adjustment to his approach in the off-season much like Greinke had to do. He’s probably going to be a 5 inning guy this year if he makes it back, so maybe a tandem pitcher in the playoffs.

If LMJ is healthy and it sounds like he is you bring him up now and let him work it out at the major league level. You have a 12 game lead. It’s no big deal if he gets cuffed around a couple times while getting his feel back.

I know home field isn’t exactly a big deal, but I sure would like to take the top seed from NYY. Having that extra home game in a possible ALCS would be huge.

I do think Lance will need time to figure it out, but agree he isn’t the kind to figure it out in the minors.

Houston's about as good a playoff road team as exists. Altuve feeds off the Yankees fan jeers.

I think this dude is going to pound his way to MMP. He may not have the ceiling of MVP but I am pretty sure he is going to be a solid everyday pain in the other teams ass. I'm going to head over and check him out next season.

Several weeks overdue IMO. So looking forward to seeing what numbers he puts up on AAA.

Not unlikely he’s he first position player to make the majors from his draft if the Astros are aggressive enough and still need help in CF next year.

I just really sense a lot of Bregman in him.

I think he will be relentless in the minors until he forces the team's hands.

    Starting CF by 2024.

Luis Encarnación hit his 4th homer of the season for the FCL Orange team.

Encarnación is a 19-year-old from the Dominican Republic who signed for $210,000 on July 2, 2019. In his US debut, he's hitting .265/.357/.429 with 4 homers and 20 RBI in 28 games.

Encarnación is an infielder converting to catcher with what Ben Badler described as an unorthodox swing at the plate, but he makes it work thanks to a patient approach. He has an above-average arm, which should help with the transition. Could have some average raw power, but he's more of a hard liner guy. Defensively, Encarnación has played every infield spot except shortstop and also has three starts in LF this year. At 5-8, 170 (probably not accurate), he's got a stocky build and is described as not really being a good athlete.

Obviously, there's a non-zero chance that Encarnación doesn't make it out of the complex leagues, but right now, he's following almost the exact same timeline as Enmanuel Valdez: complex leagues first two seasons (in Encarnación's case, a third might be needed since there's no more short-season baseball) and then full-season debut in year 3 (or 4, if he repeats the FCL).
