The funny thing is they’re operating in the same mindset the kings are and they’re too dumb to even realize it.
That's quite literally the dumbest statement in this entire thread. Congratulations. There's no valid basketball reason to not pay KPJ, the only potentially valid excuse not to is the fear by the pearl clutchers that he'll turn into a menace to society.
Both. He’s a young player, young players are often bad even if they have potential. Jalen green was awful last season (one if the most damaging players in the league) but i think he has a chance to be great. The luka types are very rare, most young guys take time. The fact that kpj was awful in his 3rd year is certainly concerning, but again i think he has a chance, and on a reasonable deal i would take the risk.
How much do you think his 2021-2022 season was worth to a team that was trying to win? Minimum? 5 mil? 10? 15? Max?
BTW 12-15 are the numbers I have posted. Even with him having a PO on the 3rd yr so he can opt out for more if he has outplayed it. But let's keep on debating something we're not going to agree on. SMH.
Hmm let's see, how much would a team that wants to win pay for a 2 way combo guard that can create their own shot, create for others, defend 4 positions, and was the best catch and shoot 3 point shooter in the league? Yeah, probably quite a lot. Easily 15-20 mil.
You realize that's just a middling starting PG salary right? That's nowhere near a max deal. You do understand this is 2022 not 2002?
I’m aware of the cap yup. There is typically little value in the nba for players who make more then the mid level and under the max, as you can see from all the examples brought up
I wonder if you'll keep that opinion in a few years when other young players need new deals... if they aren't a max player, insult them with a rookie level deal..... bold.
I just wish these people pushing the "if they're not max players, they aren't worth anything" narrative were around back when this site was melting down over the decision to not pay 40 million dollars for one season of 75 year old Trevor Ariza. Oh how times have changed.
You keep bringing up other team's bad deals to justify making a bad deal for KPJ. What kind of logic is that?
lol, that’s what they all do bringing up the Knicks of all teams paying Brunson, and KPJr and Brunson had “similar numbers,” so he should get paid major money too…
facts my guy if KPJr wants a deal right now, he can take 3/24 with a PO…if he actually plays well and behaves off the court, then we can talk about upping the amount
Miami probably based that terrible Duncan Robinson contract off the Nets overpaying the likes of Joe Harris now look at them…that deal is negative value and would cost assets to get rid of
