We keep being told it won’t happen besides Meyers is doing a bang up job! And defense wins championships in baseball you know. You remember how many rings we won with “best defensive SS ever” Adam Everett? Him and Ausmus at the bottom of the lineup… sure miss those days.
2004 Game 7 vs St. Louis, Ausmus with the shot in the gap in left center that doesn't fall in what would have been a huge 2 run double giving Clemens breathing room. Oh what could have been with that team. The world missed out on a fantastic world series vs Boston. For a second time.
He’s a colon cancer survivor also so not hard to root and like a guy like that who worked so hard after treatment to get back to where he is today. He’s unbelievably humble and grateful. I’m so happy he’s a Stro.
If Brantley can make it back, this should be our lineup in the playoffs: Altuve Brantley Bregman Alvarez Mancini Tucker Pena McCormick/Meyers Maldonado/Vasquez Alternating left and right handed hitters. Gurriel, Diaz, Dubon off the bench.
What a great game and a nice start to the series. I'm getting so wettt just thinking about Mancini rn.
Altuve's transformation as a player over the years has been one of the more remarkable and rewarding things to witness in baseball. While I love the home run happy version, this rendition of him when he's spraying hits really sets up the offense. It's incredible how often he primes the rest of the lineup by getting on base.
I believe Meyers is the long term answer. But he's not right now. Something is wrong, but he needs to fix it in the minors.
No matter what, they will be sending down a very good reliever. RELIEVERS IP ERA+ WHIP RC Pressly 32.0 125 0.969 RR Stanick 37.1 320 1.125 RR Montero 44.0 235 0.955 RR Martinez 30.0 184 0.933 RR Abreu 37.2 147 1.301 RR Maton 43.2 117 1.191 RR Neris 43.0 108 0.930 LR Smith 2.1 102 0.500
