Do want to use that same logic on everybody else? Particularly Green and Sengun? He is averaging over 6 asst a game on a team that has spacing issues and no great finishers or shooters but for some reason you are questioning his court vision? Who is he getting these easy assist from?
Why the **** are you basing so much on his one temper tantrum while on the rockets? Use that same metric around the NBA and see how players you would miss out on. What the **** does it matter if it's a team friendly deal, do you think that deal would mean he never has an outburst again? This is the stupid **** that drives me bonkers saving 5 to 7 million is not going to mean anything either he is worth a contract or not.
Am I supposed to "blame" Clutch for being on Twitter? I reacted to posts directed at him, who I follow there. As for being on Twitter at all, I spend far more time here. Twitter is what it is. There's some real value there. You just have to dodge the BS. The point about Ryno is a good one. Given far too large a salary (I was appalled at the time) and then losing whatever value got him the deal in the first place far too quickly and we were stuck with him. An albatross. Sure, KPJ is a different player, that's obvious enough, but I'd just as soon see another team take a flyer on him unless he clearly turns a corner, improves his play, shows he's willing to play a different role if it's asked of him, and does all that without a hint of issues in or out of the locker room. I'm very skeptical, even then.
Would love you to point to a player that got a big contract extension in the same season they left a game at half time in a tantrum 5 to 7 Million is absolutely important with how strict the salary cap is, and I'm really glad someone who doesn't see that like you isn't our GM He is right now worth a $8-10 per year fully guaranteed deal, or a $12-14 million team or so team friendly deal (team option or not fully guaranteed). If he has another good season without incidents, that number will go up, and I'm fine with that. But he has not earned more at this point right now, in the 2022 off-season. He just hasn't. Also calm down, geez. The idea of lets not overpay him too early isn't that crazy and is good team management! No one is suggesting to cut him
Ryno was a malcontent? KPJ has more talent than White, DMo, Vspan combined. "Talentless malcontent that could set the whole thing on fire" ?????? Everyone on the team loves KPJ not sure why you want to fabricate a narrative like this. At least you're coming out with disliking him for the personal aspect and not trying to invent BS "basketball reason" to cast him away. You dont like him as a person - Cool! Makes it easier that way.
That’s the thing a lot of people are not really grasping. He has to do two things to earn a larger contract: 1) improve as a player 2) avoid any distracting incidents Most players have already done those things when it’s time to get paid. Because he hasn’t, if would be idiotic to give him a large contract. He should take the security of a Tate-like extension and use that security to focus on his game. He is adding undue pressure for himself by trying to accomplish too much to get paid earlier than most players. If that’s what’s happening, it’s bad advice by his agent.
don’t ever try to question my basketball knowledge…gimme a break if u think Brunson and KPJr were the same caliber of player last year, then it is u who doesn’t know anything Mavs were 30th in pace. Ok, and?
So know he should have been cut for quitting on the team multiple times? Do you want to use the same quitting standard you are using with everybody else on the team?
So Twitter rumors have them offering something like 2 years at 8.5m and a third team option year......or they will wait for RFA to set the market. DD
You want to stick your head out of the rabbit hole....well come all the way out. What numbers do you state for Porter jr in (22/23) and Brunson with Knicks (22/23)? 7 stats, I will match, pts, rebs, TOV's, Runners in scoring position, yards after catch.....name it Some odd ball stat being a tie-breaker.......all stats within [ 0.2 or 0.4 or 1.0 or 2.0......you pick] You think you know more than me prove it!! Winner take all....loser walks away from this forum forever. Talk is cheap......or do you only post past stats?
So now we are basing on a player getting a big contract in the same season? I am not advocating to give him any contract now I am saying stop with trying to lowball a guy by nitpicking every little incident and downplaying what he has actually done since those incidents.
Yea numbers can b deceiving no? We had a bunch on here clamoring and raving about how good woods ability is to put up stats, points, etc. If u watch bb u can see that he doesn't actually plays a like a teammate setting up picks, defense etc. All the positive stats in the world and I could already say confidently that wood isn't worth a max contract. Folks may hate kpj for personal behavior reasons aside from bb, tru. But from what I see in kpj, I see a dude who is still learning how to play pg due to his lack of court vision and passing abilities. He also needs to up his free throws % and ppg to be considered for max. It's all about eye test. And he isn't up to par to being a good pg or max contract player yet. And the final results shows.
Jalen Brunson made 36 field goals in those 3 games…a whopping 7 of them were from 3, and several of them had nothing to do with Gobert as he just dribbled down the court and pulled up from three The Jazz not hitting threes has what to do with Brunson’s production in those 3 games? Did he play Utah every game when he also produced in the regular season?
Truly ridiculous how it’s gotten People claiming to be the knowledgeable reasonable ones throwing out these stat lines they predict from KPJ next season…. Players to average 20/5.5/7.8 with 34% Assist rate Magic Lebron Jokic Harden Westbrook Payton Luka Yep. Seems like KPJ belongs…. Edit : oh and if you add in the turnover prediction with the other stats we bring the list down to 0. Ever.
Idgaf about some stats prediction for Brunson or KPJr next year…I am discussing the weird and incoherent talking points you’ve been providing still waiting on what the Mavs being 30th in pace has to do with anything I guess u can’t counter so u need to pivot to some boring game of predicting stats
No I'm done talking stats......you are saying Brunson coat tailing Doncic for most of the season as a side kick has nothing to do with anything? Doncic was 97% PG% according to basketball-reference.com Porter was 94% PG% according to basketball-reference.com It's different being the point of attack and being a side kick for most of the year. Teams game plan differently. So Wall and Wood selfishness had nothing to do with Porters stats? @D-rock brought up the Porter numbers minus Wood. Look back a couple of pages. Silas saying he played vanilla offense had nothing to do with Porters stats? Ok.....put your projections in writing....I'm confident. Are you? Ye of little faith......don't shrink now. Come at me!!
