We may never know if the texts are truly gone forever. The system is supposed to maintain these records - that failed here. It didn't work. Apparently, there was a cover-up. Another area to beef up and hold those involved with deleting or worse, covering up the deletion of them, accountable.

there's a big difference between saying "apparently" there was a cover-up and asserting confidently with 100% certainty "there was a coverup." At this point we cannot possibly know for sure what happened--nobody does. Anyone stating anything to the contrary is blowing smoke out their ass. I agree with you it doesn't look like an innocent mistake and that yes indeed it is quite likely messages were erased on purpose. But that is a speculative guess, just as it is for anyone else.

    just to add

you can only be 99% certain of anything

because reality might be a simulation

So, it isn't possible to know anything for certain. But we can see what appears most likely. We can see where there are real problems when evidence can be hidden and legally acquiring that evidence may have been obstructed.

This is all on top of the evidence that already exists about what did happen. The fact that it all fits together is in itself troubling if not making criminality more and more likely.

I feel bad because you are the only one presenting information about this from a skeptical point of view. So it seems like almost every response not just from me but from many others is in an effort to engage you in debate.

Yes, it is possible to still enjoy technology. That would be the same even if we didn't live in a democracy at all.

Having our democracy destroyed doesn't mean the end of the world, technology, or even luxuries.

Some people are intent on preserving our democracy and some aren't that interested.

This representative is so damn dumb she doesn’t even know she’s throwing herself under the bus.

Crazy that @MojoMan and the General… err I guess @CrixusTheUndefeatedGaul can continue to support her.

    Hopefully they’re just troll accounts.

    100%

Instead of paying his debts he’s on account #3.

He took some of my advice and changed his birthday and actually posted in the GARM,…But anyways it’s completely obvious that not too many 47 year olds(same age as his other 2 accounts but he set the birthday 3 days later) are joining antiquated basketball BBSes to discuss politics.

    * I also assume all recent left posters who mainly post in the D&D are alt accounts, but because they don’t owe money for lost bests I don’t care to identify who they are.

If you want, search users that have talked about “Winnie The Pooh” constantly to compare writing styles and confirm they’re the same person.

I can confirm: Not only is the universe just a simulation run amok, but I am just another of the General's myriad alt accounts. But that doesn't mean that I'm not sentient... that I cannot feel sadness. :(

History will tell but if you gave me a crystal ball I think the investigation that’ll matter the most in our lifetime in regards to presidential history will be the impeachment investigations and hearings.

The lack of courage for Republicans to not bar this guy from running again after literally attempting a coup is the watershed moment that would have protected the country moving forward more than an indictment after the fact from a later DOJ or state prosecutor. There’s even debate that a US citizen can run for and be president while serving time for being convicted for a crime.

I took both seriously. I know both parties do misinformation as just another tool in their bags of dirty tricks for winning elections. A lot of Russian conspiracy stuff Trump brought upon himself. But I genuinely wanted to learn about how the Clinton campaign amplified and distorted the story. We learned a bit, so I think it was worth doing. And the fact he couldn't get any conviction (unlike Mueller or the Jan 6 investigations) was informative too.

Hillary was never afraid to testify and did under oath for Benghazi for like 15 hours and they didn't even get a sound bite out of it

But Trump has never testified and they all seem terrified to let him. I guess the conservative side thinks that he'll be lured into traps, but Hillary wasn't afraid of that and did it. Are we admitting Trump isn't as competent as Hillary?

I mean I know the truth is everyone deep down knows he's a pathological liar who will perjure himself, but it'd be cool if they were honest about it

Republicans keep electing Ken Paxton to be Attorney General in Texas, being charged with crimes means nothing for public office
