Wait till @tinman finds out Beyonce's album is a celebration and is about honoring the black queer community.

Does that make her woke? I know one thing and I'm pretty certain here, she wants nothing to do with conservatives that flip out over a 0.5 second lesbian kiss in a movie or sides with countries like China and Saudi Arabia on banning such movies because of said kiss.

I know with 100% certainty Beyonce wouldn't be on the side of these people.

You would think that since it seems you know little about her. Her political stances definitely don't line up with yours and she's super 'woke'.

The difference between Beyonce and Gangsta Rap is the latter was made to be vulgar and offensive while the former is made to be positive and fun and uplifting.

This is like comparing South Park to Spongebob.

If something in Spongebob is found to be troubling to children it is asked to be removed, not the same case for Southpark. It really is not that difficult to understand.

So you are calling the Beyonce fan base children? That can be pretty offensive, they are grown people listening to a women sing about grown up stuff... Sex, life, halo..... What makes you think her music is targeted at children?

Or that all her music is fun and uplifting? She is an artist, she has the right to sing about what ever she wants without backlash. You label her and then get offended when she does not fit the box you put her in.

    @tinman

I have to disagree on this. It's not about being woke. If people with this disease find the word offensive, it happens. We don't use the word r****ded anymore as people started using r****d as an insult. Spaz isn't making fun of cerebral palsy, totally agree but we do show disabled people consideration on these matters

words can have multiple meanings in English and in slang as well as different countries.
Isn't using two fingers in one country means peace while two fingers in another country is an insult?

I believe it's about INTENT. She's not trying to insult anyone. I don't think it warrants her changing her lyrics because there are much more offensive songs and lyrics that nobody mentions because they aren't the top artist.

Not sure how you got that from my post, I didn't even mention children at all in that post... the point being made here since it has to be clarified is that comparing pop music made to be positive and uplifting to gangsta rap music made to be offensive and vulgar is a bad idea.

Brah, Halo is a generic love song.

Yes, pretty much all of her music outside of songs about tragedy are made to be uplifting and positive for black women. This goes all the way back from her time with Destiny's Child to now where she's making BLM power anthems.

This particular album is for black queer people. I'm not putting her in a box, it's what she's saying herself. Her latest work is about honoring the LGBTQ+ community and their contributions to music.

But hey, if yall want to champion her as part of your new Anti-Woke movement go ahead.

Well, she DID remove that lyric, however Monica Lewinsky's request can suck a fat one.

You just said if something sponge bob said was offensive to children it should be removed.

Adults arent like children, they can handle strong language and words... What they cant seem to handle is being offended all of a sudden.

Can you realistically imagine Beyonce and her group writing this new album and then be like " you know exactly what this bar needs, it needs a specific diss to handy cap and crippled english people... Spaz! I like it lets do it!"

Today its Spaz, what will they cancel next? Everything can pretty much be twisted and offensive to someone.

The point wasn't about children, the point was different things are meant for different people.

Southpark is MADE to offend, so telling Southpark creators to get rid of something because it offends someone is silly (although it still happens) this is like Gangsta Rap, it's made to be violent and offensive.

Spongebob is made to be a light and funny show that kids can watch, so if something in Spongebob is inappropriate to children then someone would ask for the show to remove it.

Beyonce's music is again, MADE to be uplifting and positive, that's what 90% of her records are made for, so if something in a song does the opposite then it makes sense that she might remove it.

I wasn't comparing Beyonce fans to children, what was being done was comparing the situations so that you might understand why someone would treat gangsta rap differently than pop music. It's about expectations. You turn on an NWA album knowing what to expect so you can't feign surprise when it happens but if all of a sudden Beyonce is talking about how she's going to ****** hoods to shoot them up you'd be confused and wondered where that came from and might even be offended/put off because it wasn't expected.
