The only thing that stood out to me in the AB was that it took forever for Hill and the catcher to get set to throw the next pitch after the foul into the dugout. Hill ran a long way and I am pretty sure the catcher was stalling to let him catch his breath. At that point the only thing that makes sense is that the plate umpire lost track of the count.

Right but there was Miles Straw who always played and I believe was traded in part to give others a shot

Right.... but everyone in the Red Sox dugout and every player on the field and the other 3 umpires and the announcers all lost track. Apparently Baker did was well.

No...no...no....Siri did not make his Astros debut until September of last year and didn't start a game until September 13.

Someone mentioned, as it happened, that we were lucky that Alvarez grounded out. Sox could have protested game.

and THAT ticked Rusty off so he played games with the lineup, like he's doing now. One should go read some old articles when Rusty was manager of the Reds, and Cubs, and the kinds of problems they had until he was fired. Seems like there's a pattern of behavior.

So you're saying that was earlier this year instead of last or it never happened?

Couldn't have been this year because Meyers was injured. So that doesn't fit.

    I found this:

“I think that’s the number one thing that’s missing, I think, in the game is speed,” Baker said. “You know, with the need for minorities, you can help yourself — you’ve got a better chance of getting some speed with Latin and African-Americans. I’m not being racist. That’s just how it is.”

You wrote this Primarily last season when he fought Click to get Meyers into the line-up. Click eventually has to send Siri down to AAA to get Meyers any significant playing time.

Last season that didn't happen because Siri didn't join the team until September.

And this season, Meyers has been with Houston for 36 games and has started 29 of them. So he has been getting plenty of paying time.

It's demonstrably false both this season and last that Siri was sent down so Jake could get significant playing time.

Lets just have him go a week without hurting himself or doing something stupid first.
