Yeah, they both started out great and are now hard to watch bat. Even worse is watching Tucker with his superstitious quirks at the plate like Rafael Nadal getting ready to serve. He steps back, shuffles the dirt with his feet, wipes his hands in the dirt, spits, then rubs his chin on his shoulder, and now has even added the nose grab and helmet grab before taking the stance at times. Can't decide whether to wear gloves or take them off. It's gotten in his head. Meanwhile, we rely on a man to decide if the ball is a strike or a ball, without getting to challenge calls. All the time in the world to do all those quirks before batting but people say challenges will delay the games too much. I say eliminate the nonsense and make time for challenges. Nobody needs to stand there doing all that crap like wrapping, unwrapping gloves, or the other quirks to play ball.
It is like no other game I can think of. Red Sox pitching is hardly league leading, yet they have looked elite against the Astros. Astro pitching has been good in the series, but hitting has been abysmal, especially with runners on base. Hitting slumps are hard to figure out. In the majors pitching is so dominant overall, hitters have a tiny margin for error. If the swing is just a tad off, if timing is just a tad off, if vision is just a tad off the hitter looks like Tucker recently.
with Yuli/Brantley, man this lineup can be filthy in a number of ways hopefully pena/tucker can get out of their funks
For some reason, I like Mancini at the 4 and move everyone else down one. Maybe move Tucker up to 5 once he snaps his slump.
Tucker needs a day (or 2) off already. He's been running on fumes and didn't really get time away during the All-Star break.
I honestly don't know what is going on with Tucker. He doesn't even look like a major league hitter anymore. His last 18 games: 10-67 = .149 BA /// .219 OBP /// .488 OPS /// His track record of course gives him a cushion but this is his worst stretch of baseball since his rookie season. I wonder if it's something mechanical or just mental. Either way we're not gonna win without him. Hopefully he turns it around soon.
I'm going to assume it has to do with money and contract extension. Maybe his girl is bagging him for their lack of money and wants him to sign a deal already so they can get their millions. It's tough out there man, everything so expensive! Look at that commercial he had to do to get some extra dough.
Well, I'd rather Tucker gets his struggles out of the way now rather than deal with them in October. I'm sure he didn't forget how to hit the baseball.
Yah, but can the Astros take advantage of the Yankee faltering a bit to catch up? So far, it stands that Astros don't want 1st place. Also, fck the mariners and yankees.
