    She deserves what she gets. If you're stupid enough to try and smuggle weed on a plane in Russia I don't care about you at all. I'm actually glad she likes women because I wouldn't want a dumbass like that to reproduce

    For me, it depends on several factors.

    How privileged is the person?

    Should they hasn't reasonably known their actions would be illegal?

    I have a lot more sympathy for a poor person who steps on the wrong flower and gets imprisoned in a foreign country than for a privileged famous athlete who brings drugs into a foreign country because they assume they can do whatever they want.

    Depends. I would have to know the situation. In her case she knew the law and decided to break it. In this climate you have to he a special type of stupid to attempt what she did. I'm not going to pretend to care about her like a lot of people are

    She's not an innocent hostage taken in by Russia who's return home needs to be negotiated diplomatically. She broke the law in a foreign country and is being prosecuted. End of story.
