Precipitous: done suddenly and without careful consideration.

    How is it tone deaf?

    What is the double standard?

Yes.... I know. So since Trump's plan was to leave earlier than Biden did I'm sure you are much more critical of Trump then correct??

"suddenly and w/o planning" does not equate to "earlier"

This is perversely like the Covid debate. If a militant Taliban is guaranteed to resurface no matter our hamfisted response, then is it money saved if we pull out or ten years earlier?

One can argue the extra time gave more stability (very situational...) to a new generation of afghanis, but we spent at least 3 trillion over the last 20 years, which is around 200 million a day. That doesn't even account for future costs in VA care and interest payments.

Anyone can talk tough, but the room becomes dead silent when the bill is due.

So you are saying that Trump would have had a better exit because he is a well known strategic planner that is not at all impulsive??

I mean did Trump have a completely different military or something? I missing something here with your logic.

To me "Strength" is when you make the right decision even when you know it'll look bad today, and give you a poor news cycle. Getting out of Afghanistan was the obviously right thing to do. Even so obvious that Donald J Trump wanted to do it sooner than Biden wanted to.

I don't think I've said anything about Trump.

You did actually. You are critical of a plan that was put into place by Trump. He had the same military officials in place for the most part and had more aggressive deadlines. As much as you want to act as though the guy doesn’t exist, he’s a huge part of the exit from Afghanistan.

Republicans want to live in this world where they can say “yeah we would have done it but we would have done it better.” Sorry but you guys shouldn’t be allowed to exist in this space where you get to erase the last 5 years and ignore who is the far away front runner to be your nominee in 24.

90% of that money went back into private contractors here, it never made its way to benefit the people there. It was a puppet govt and **** effort

Well private contractors and bribes to warlords.

Outside of Kabul, money was mostly thrown to resource sites.

Boy i really wish the US were still pointlessly occupying Afghanistan and lining the pockets of its pretend government right now.

in the past 11 months Biden has handed Afghanistan to the terrorists, and tried to hand Ukraine to the Russians. Is Taiwan next?

Biden hasn't tried to hand Ukraine to Russians or Afghanistan to terrorists. So that's a lie.

Which party has a leader visiting Taiwan? Which Republican leaders defied China to do something like that?

It's been more than 25 years.

Depends on if you and Putin vote for this piece of **** again and/or get a mob of white supremacist terrorists to install him, klown.

Last time you may remember that the going rate was a couple of trademarks for Ivanka and a beautiful slice of chocolate cake.

    He poorly executed the plan.

One year later, most of us agree that this was a major blunder on his watch.
