When I say that you are cherry picking, I'm saying that you are using random stats that don't give a proper image of the quality of player you are talking about. To use what you picked KPJ having a 13.5 per, 53% TS, and less then 1 win share being "terrible", what would you then say about a player with a 12.5 PER (LOL at PER being legitimately cited BTW), 54% TS, and even fewer win shares than KPJ? Probably just time to give up on them completely right? Yeah, that's Jalen Green. Those random stats don't show Jalen Green's talent level or potential any more than they show KPJ's. Now as to the risk you run by not signing KPJ now and waiting till next year, you are now looking at having to pay him a LOT more to keep him. Basically you sign him now at a discount rate of 15-18 mil a year or you are forced to pay a lot more next offseason. Why not save the team a bit of money going forward and lock in the most vital part of the young core now?

Jalen was a rookie, if those are his stats TWO years from now, then ya i would not be willing to give him a big contract. You seem to ignore the fact that he will be an RFA, and outside of the top end guys they their markets are typically pretty weak. The other issue with extending him now for way over market value is what if we get to draft scoot? Or some other PG in the top 3-4 picks, now you basically have dead salary with kpj

Being able to catch and shoot at a high level does not matter what position you play, you are trying to argue that the lead guard should not be a catch and shoot guy? So do you discount that Curry is a great catch-and-shoot guy since he is a lead guard? Either you have no clue on how NBA offenses operate or you are really reaching to find something negative on KPJ.
